Rhapsody in Blue

Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sundays!  This week’s theme is whatever music moves you

It dawned on me that at least once a month this year, I’ve shared with you instrumental arrangement playlists and I have another that almost fits the bill.  Honestly, it’s difficult to not like the change, though. You certainly don’t find artists today doing much of this anymore, so I find it rather refreshing to step back in time and that’s precisely where I’m taking you today with Walter Murphy Rhapsody in Blue!

If you enjoyed this, YT has the entire Rhapsody in Blue album playlist. 😘

Music themes are only suggestions.  I don’t care one what kind of music it is, as long as you share music. Now, it’s your turn!

This is a music link up.  Your post must contain at least one song or your URL is marked “No Music”.

Nearly 7 years ago this month, where does the time go?, I snapped this photo with my Big Girl camera of a female elk beside the road heading from Cherokee toward the Smoky’s.

  1. This version is fun for a visit, but I’d always go back to the original arrangement by someone else. I first discovered the name of this piece when I was in college in about 1970. I’d heard it all my life but had no idea what it was or who wrote it. The movie “Rhapsody in Blue” which is about George Gershwin is among my favorites

  2. We listened to your mewsic while we were linking up on the other side (= other browser 😉 and we liked it, we also recognized a piece of mewsic. This is a keeper😻What a sweet horsie, CK🩷Double Pawkisses for a Happy Day and thank you for the mewsic🐾😽💞

      1. Where are my roller skates:)) This would have been perfect in the 70s wearing my silver sequined tube top with polyester pants boogieing( that spelling does not look right) away. I listened to it but I much prefer the original

  3. I am quite familiar with the original Rhapsody in Blue (which was first performed in 1924), but never heard this more modern styled version. I liked it! Rhapsody is one of my favorite musical compositions and if this version leads someone to listen to the original, more power to it! Alana ramblinwitham

    1. WOW, I had not idea this song was that old! Naturally, I sought out to see who did the original and for anyone who doesn’t know like me, it was George Gershwin. Here it for the curious minded!
