Happy Thursday, all! The Jingle Belles challenge this week is to make a one-layer card, and the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge is an interesting color palette:
And the Christmas Kickstart challenge is poinsettias:
so I pulled out an old SU favorite, Poinsettia Petals, and went to work:
At first glance, this seems to be rather a not-very-cheery Christmas card, but the photo really doesn't do it justice! I heat-embossed the poinsettia with Pebble Path and Versamark inks and clear embossing powder, and colored it with the Moody Mauve and Blackberry Bliss inks. In hindsight, I would not add the shading around the outer edges, but you know how it does....once you start, you gotta keep going! I added some speckles and a pretty sentiment, all on a Basic Beige card base:
The embossing really gives it a nice touch! I added a sentiment from the same poinsettia set as well as some stamped berries:
One-layer cards can be a challenge, but it can be done! Thanks for visiting today! Enjoy it and be blessed!

Wowzers, LeAnne, this is so pretty! I would have never guessed that you heat embossed this! Love the outside shading but the colors you used for the poinsettia are awesome!!! Moody Mauve & Blackberry Bliss are beautiful together! Spectacular card and it's all one layer! Totally love it! :)

I think this is lovely - these colours look great on your embossed poinsettia (and I actually like the loose grey wash around the edge too!) A great use of this week's CAS Colours & Sketches colours - happy you played along!
Love, love, love!!!
Your plum colored poinsettia makes a marvelous holiday card, LeAnne! Wonderfully CAS too!
Those colors are so perfect for that poinsettia ... so very glad you joined our Flat Feliz Navidad prompt at Jingle Belles.
This is gorgeous! I think the shading makes it look very dimensional.
What a gorgeous card, and I really thought it was 2-D until I looked closer. What fabulous shading. So glad you've come to play at Christmas Kickstart with Bobby and me, Jo x
What fantastic dimension you got on your one layer card, LeAnne, and that color combination is gorgeous. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Christmas Kickstart.
