My nephew gave his mom a stack of 200-4" squares for Christmas, and here's the quilt she made with them!!!⤵️
Quilt Info:
Size: 60" x 81"
Batting: Quilters Dream 100% White Cotton
Thread: Glide--Eggnog
Pantograph: Honey Honey ⤵️ from Sew Shabby Quilting
I used a cute new pantograph, "Honey Honey" from Sew Shabby Quilting, that features flowers and rainbows!!!⤴️⤵️ I am a member of the Sew Shabby Quilting Panto Club which gives me 12 new pantos of my choosing throughout the year. She has 837 modern pantos and is adding 5-10 new ones every week!I used a yellow thread so the quilting would stand out a bit more on the white squares.
This quilt has a very spring-like, happy feeling!!!
Bonnie always uses 108" backings, which makes life easier for her longarm quilter--me! Here she used a fun splattered-paint print that brings out the yellows in the quilt. She ran into a friend at the fabric store who helped her pick out this backing fabric!
What a wonderful, thoughtful gift of fabric that turned into a quilted hug!!! Great job, Jonathan and Bonnie!!!Grace and peace!!! ~Nancy

Such a pretty spring quilt! Your nephew gave his mother a wonderful Christmas present that will be enjoyed for many years to come.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great gift and what a gorgeous quilt! I love those fabrics together, and the yellow thread is just icing. Will the quilt go to your nephew?
ReplyDeleteThis is Jonathan's gift to Quilter Bonnie. It is her quilt.
DeleteThat is so sweet Jonathan gave his mom something he knew she would use, but where did he find 4" squares?
ReplyDeleteAmazon.
DeleteI love it! Jonathan gave his mom a quilt with "some assembly required!" Reminds me of the LEGO sets I used to get my boys when they were little; they'd spend weeks putting the little bricks together to make the Star Wars Death Star much like Bonnie had to invest time and effort to turn the stack of fabric squares into a quilt. Very cheerful, Springy finish!
ReplyDeleteThat's about the most perfect Christmas gift I can think of! Your nephew is a smart young man! Such pretty flower prints, too. I love that simple patchwork and your quilting is perfect for it, Nancy!
ReplyDeleteI like how you described Jonathan's gift of fabric as a "quilted hug"!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your beautiful quilting. It adds so much to the quilt. The flowers, leaves, and rainbows are just perfect!
What a beautiful finish! I like the yellow thread for the quilting and the reason why you chose it!--TerryK@OnGoingProjects

ReplyDeleteHow wonderful! What a thoughtful gift for Bonnie and what a pretty quilt she made. Love the yellow quilting and the pantograph Honey Honey is so perfect for this quilt. It kind of has a 70's vibe - the pantograph! Her choice of backing is perfect too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful quilt. It is so bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, what a great idea. Your quilting makes it even more special!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful finish!! She will cherish the gift.
ReplyDeleteI love this, Nancy! Amazing what one can do with just squares! :)
ReplyDeleteThe panto is so right for this spring-y quilt. :)
ReplyDeleteSo good! A simple patchwork quilt always turns out pretty, especially when print fabrics are paired with a neutral. The panto you selected works nicely with it, though seems almost invisible against that busy backing. You-all are a great trio!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful Christmas present and adorable quilt. Simple squares are so cozy, and your quilting adds even more coziness. The backing is one of my favorites for using with multicolored quilts.
ReplyDeleteAaah your nephew knows his mom well! What gorgeous fabrics . This is a quilt of love especially since so many family members had a part in its making and finish.
ReplyDeleteSo so pretty! Classic simple design quilt is my fave! and the quilting is just fantastic.
ReplyDeleteClever Jonathan and Bonnie. Cool quilting design.
ReplyDeleteThe panto is perfect for the fabrics in this quilt. What a sweet gift Jonathan gave to his Mom, and she turned it into something special. Well done on the quilting!

How lovely to have a son give his mother fabric. That is a perfect relationship.
ReplyDeleteI think the end result with this quilt is delightful, as is the pantograph you have used.
