You Can Put the Apron On Him, but Not Make Him Keep It, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

 ***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Yesterday actually started last Thursday when i cleaned the house for Ms. V.

When i finish, she tells me to start the cleaning cloths in the laundry, including all the mop heads and things which have to be air dried, and remind her so she will get them out of the washer and taken care of before Carl does his next load of laundry.

She never remembers.  Last Thursday i did remind her, and started a load with both the cleaning rags and some underwear Carl had dropped off in the laundry room when he noticed i was doing his parents' laundry (he just figures i'm there, i'll do his, too!).

Yesterday i walked into a disaster in the laundry room including all the cleaning items and the underwear scattered far and wide, on the floor, in the laundry sink mixed with both clean (folded!) socks and dirty items.

When she woke up later i informed her as much as i love her i have to fire her from doing the cleaning laundry.  We laughed, but she really is fired from it, from now on i'll do it on Monday when i come back.

Carl had managed to wash a few things properly, and while i've seen him take his pants off like this, i've never seen it stay like this through a washer cycle.

The dryer screen was missing, i finally found it under all the clothes in the sink.  While i was working in there, Carl got up and went for a shower.

Next, i tackled the fridge.

Much more than last week.

In the bags there was a really large piece of pizza and several empty water bottles.  Why empty ones?  Because the full ones were still on the floor beside the fridge.

Carl came out of the shower mostly dressed and with the most astounding case of bed/shower hair i've ever seen.  Every hair was pointing in a different direction.  I suggested he comb it well and he did, talking the whole time.

"Having problems with the carts," he said.  "There's never enough.  And I got 30 hours last week."

He's only supposed to be part time, but they have such a hard time getting people to do the job, he's often asked to stay over.

For once, he sat down to put the powder on his feet in the bathroom like he's supposed to.  Of course, it wasn't over the rug but on the hard floor, making the floor slippery, which is what he's supposed to avoid, but at least he's closer to the target.

"Having phone trouble..." he continued, then trailed off and came back with, "what band is that on the radio?"

I wasn't sure as i just had on some soft background music, but he popped up and i put an apron on him reminding him not to take it off until it was time to leave.

Less than 30 seconds later, the apron was off again, and i asked him why.

"Oh, yeah," he said, putting it back on.  Then he reached in the fridge for the bottle of tea and took the apron off again.

Again i reminded him to put it on and leave it to protect his clothes.

I probably got him to put it back on 5 times, and each time, it was discarded rather quickly.  You can put an apron on him, but you can't make him keep it on.

I asked if he wanted his leftover pizza for lunch and he noted it was a rather large serving, so i cut it in half and he took half yesterday and has another good slice for a lunch later in the week.  He seemed very pleased with this, which doesn't surprise me as he does love his food and he's always concerned i won't pack enough.

"What's going on?" he asked as he ate and i got the rest of his lunch organized.

At church? i asked.

"In general," he answered, and since it's a big question, i talked about it being St. Patrick's Day and the parade and the traffic.  I also noted the church is getting ready for the Easter celebrations.

He seemed satisfied with this and started talking about some discovery space scientists have made.  I didn't quite follow it, but these things are always fascinating, especially to him.

Once breakfast was done he was wandering around picking up random things and muttering, and kept asking me, "What am I looking for?"

I wasn't sure how to answer, but he got out to work on time, which is what counts.

It's time for funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  9. Never a dull day at that house for sure. We laughed out loud at the pants and underwear combo:). The apron thing reminds Mom of our human brother as a baby. He hated sweaters, even as a very young infant. He would fuss and fuss and try to get it off and when older, he just pulled it off himself. Never could figure out what the problem was. Sweatshirts - just fine.

    Have a good week.
