Since 1990, a colony of Sea Lions has called Pier 39 home. They arrived shortly after the 1989 Earthquake and didn't leave. The Pier 39 area is perfect for them as there is a great food supply and no natural predators. So here is to 35 years of the Pier 39 Sea Lions.
And the population rises and falls with the seasons. They are always there:
The Pier 39 Sea Lions are amazing to see and I am happy to that they have a home there. Hopefully, this colony will be there for the next 35 years.
