Lil Blu Bear Hug #4

I pulled 2 leftover pieces from the shelf that went together but not with anything else. The navy was a 15 inch piece and the celery green had 18 inchs,  there is still a bit left of that.  I had fun constructing this little bear quilt which took every bit of the navy blue print, finishing with a narrow binding made from 2 inch strips.  I rounded the corners just a teeny bit, so easy to bind.

I used a dark royal blue fleece on the back and included some batting scraps; quilted with cream Glide thread using the walking foot.  What a mistake with dark glide in the bobbin as it kept poking up the top no matter what adjustments I tried.  Eventually, just went with it as is.  It finished at 22" square.

This little stuffed guy was generously sent to me by an online friend, Dee.  Many of you here will know of her.  lol.

Wish I could get the blog page to permit side by side photos.  May be if I try a different template.
But for this week, I'm joining these fun linky parties.  Be sure to visit them to see what other quilters are sharing.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

  1. This two-colors little quilt is beautiful, great use of your stash! Love the rounded corners, and sorry for the thread not playing as you wanted to. Still, I can see nothing wrong, and your baby quilt looks cozy and very welcoming.
In my experience, Blooger doesn't make it easy to display photos side by side. To do this, I combine two photos into one (using photo editing software), or create two columns with html code.
Thank you for sharing this lovely finish, and linking up!

  8. Such a cute little quilt and way to go using up scraps and putting the fleece on the back. I love how you bundled up the little stuffed bear with the quilt (and tied with a bow!!). I learned to use a separate photo editor to create "collaged" side by side pictures. It came with my operating software but just recently they say it's no longer being supported so now I have to find another one to use because like you, I like being able to show some pictures that way.
