SOFT OR BOLD COLOURS?

Morning Everyone,

I hope you are enjoying the lovely sunny weather we are having here in the UK at the moment.  I think today is going to be the hottest day of the week.

A new challenge starts today over at As You Like It and we are asking whether you prefer to use soft or bold colours on your projects.

I do like using both but when it comes to making children's cards I prefer to use bolder colours. I think they stand out and grab their attention more than soft colours.

For my card I have used a cute monkey image from Last Minute Manda and coloured him with copics.  I have used a MFT cloud stencil for the background and the green starry paper is from a LOTV pad. The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

with a voucher for the lucky winner

I would like to enter:

Simon Says Weds - Anything Goes
Critter Crazy - AG featuring a critter

Thank you for visiting and I look forward to seeing your entries.

JAPANESE ANEMONE

Hello Everyone,

I hope you are well and have had a good weekend.  I have a card to share which has been in the making for at least a week.  This is mainly due to lack of mojo and being busy elsewhere, but I did want to get it finished for a few challenges I've seen.

I've used a set from Altenew called Japanese Anemone Layering Die and inked them up with a few different pinks.  I say a few I mean three as the first two were a bit too pale.  The stems and leaves were die cut in green and then shaded with a green copic.  I arranged them onto a Spellbinders arch die and heat embossed the sentiment, also from an Altenew set, in white.  The backing paper is a random sheet I found in my drawer.

I would like to enter:

Beautiful Blossoms - Anything Floral
Die Cut Divas - Flowers

I will probably go out and do a bit more gardening now.  I did some this morning until it got too warm for me.  I can't work in the heat.  Thank you for visiting and I will be back later in the week.

INSPIRED BY A SONG

Morning Everyone,

It's the start of a new challenge over at Allsorts where the theme, as chosen by Sarah, is 'Inspired by a Song' and there's always 'Anything Goes' too.

My song is Flowers by Miley Cyrus.  I'm not a fan of hers but I do like the song and I have plenty of flower images to chose from.  I decided to use my Concord & 9th set again called Hello Lovely.  I've coloured with copics and used a MFT scalloped border and a snippet of lilac paper from a LOTV paper pad.  The sentiment which has been heat embossed in white is also from MFT.

There are three prizes of die sets from In2Craft

I would like to enter:

Digi Choosday - Anything Goes
Beautiful Blossoms - Anything Floral
Crafty Catz - Feminine Birthday
Simon Says Weds - Make It Girly
Penny's Paper Crafty - Anything Goes

I hope you can join us, two weeks to enter, and have a lovely weekend.

CLEAN OR FUSSY?

 Mornng Everyone,

A new challenge starts over at As You Like It this morning and we are asking whether you prefer your projects to be clearn or fussy.

Most of my cards nowadays are on the clean side, mainly due to postage, but when I get the chance to make a special card I do love a bit of fussiness.

This card was for an aunt who loves to receive my cards so I went all out with the flowers etc.  The papers are from Pion Design and the numbers are from a Stampin Up set with the sentiment from LOTV.  I've had the flowers for a very long time and they are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

with a voucher for the lucky winner

Have a lovely day.  It looks as though it's going to be a sunny one here.

STENCILS AND/OR MASKS

Morning Everyone,

I hope everyone is well.  I've been poorly all week with a chest infection and haven't had the enrgy or felt well enough to do anything.  Such a shame as it was such beautiful weather too.

We have a new challenge starting over at Allsorts where, as well as Anything Goes, we have the option of Stencils/masks as chosen by Val.

For my card I have used a Waffle Flower Butterfly which has it's own co-ordinating stencil and I've used this with Altenew inks.  I die cut a second layer of the butterfly in green glitter card, but you can't see it in the pitcture.  The background stencil is from a company called CrafTreat.   The stencil was cut out with a double stitched square and layered onto green card.  The sentiment has been heat embossed in gold and is from an old Penny Black set.

Ther are two prizes, the first from Lisa Horton Crafts, Pansy Corner layering stencils with coordinating die and embossing folder.

and an extra prize of 2 stencils

I hope you will be able to join us and look forward to seeing your entries in the next two weeks.

PINK CHRISTMAS

Hello All,

I decided to have a play with my Simply Wonderful die and stamp set from The Greetery that I've had for ages and never used.

I heat embossed all sentiments in silver and cut the 'wonderful' with the co-ordinating die.  I then cut flowers and foliage from Spellbinders Christmas blooms set, flowers in pink and foliage in silver cardstock.  It took me ages, on and off, to decide on the layout but got there in the end and added bling to the centres of the flowers and attached it all to more silver sheen card.

I would like to enter:

ABC Christmas - E for embossing and F for focal sentiment
Christmas Kickstart - Positively Poinsettias
Creative knockouts - Embossing Delight
NBUS  - never before used stuff
Word Power April challenge  - Sentiment as focus

Have a good weekend and lets hope the weather stays as nice as it has been today here in the UK.

FLORAL OR CUTE?

 Morning Everyone,

There's a new challenge starting over at As You Like It and we're asking whether you prefer to make Floral or Cute projects and don't forget to say why please.

I make a lot more floral than cute cards so for me it must be floral, although it does depend on who the card is for.  For this card I have used a Taylored Expresssions stamp heat embossed in gold onto watercolour paper and coloured with Zig clean colour brush markers.  The Hello is an old Spellbinders one cut in mirri card.

The sponsor for the challenge is:

I would like to enter:

Gem of a Craft - Anything Goes
Passion for Markers - Anything but Birthday

Thank you for your visit and I look forward to seeing your makes.
