Monday and it's the beginning of a new week

Morning readers,

Hope you all enjoyed your weekend .... get up to much? It was supposed to be my first Christmas meal on Saturday, a night out with my cousin and a mutual friend. We were spread over 75 miles and, with storm Darragh at it's worst, we took the decision to cancel our meet. Looking at the state of our neighbourhood in the aftermath, I do believe it was the right thing to do ... we'll reschedule in January when it will (hopefully) be less windy! Did the storm cancel or change your plans?

I've a make to share with you today ... I had rather a lot of trouble with my photos and for that, I apologise, in the end I chose not to share the usual other pix of the envelope/reverse of my card. I'd be interested to know whether you LIKE to see the "other" pix or not bothered .....

Materials used:

  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and envelope
  • Card in white and navy, for my card front, insert and matting
  • Sticky mat - for holding my card front in place and to aid the positioning of the layered stencils
  • Recollections layering stencil (757917, a set of three stencils - Nov 2024 - NBUS) used with a makeup brush to apply (light to dark) Memento Bahama blue, Versafine Clair paradise and twilight inks - thus creating the shaded snowflake
  • Uniko sentiment (from Christmas wishes - 2020) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Stardust stickles to add a little sparkle to my snowflakes

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

  1. NBUS - challenge No. 69 - USE NBUS
  2. Stencil Fun - December challenge - USE STENCIL/S
  3. Merry Little Christmas Challenge - challenge No. 59 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Christmas Kickstart - challenge No. 93 - IF IT'S CHRISTMAS-y, LINK IT UP
  5. Sweet Stampin' - Dec 7th challenge - CHRISTMAS CREATIONS

Your stencilled snowflake card is gorgeous. Shame the storm cancelled your plans.

You asked about photos - I like to see the card itself and it’s often handy to see a pic of your materials - but personally am not bothered about seeing the back of the card and the envelope! Xxx

Great work with the layered stencil for the lovely large snowflake. Wise decision to postpone your planned outing, shame though. I feel a photo which shows a finished card is bound to be the 'main event' and for me, I'm not too worried about seeing pics of the back or envelope especially if providing them is extra hassle. Life gets complicated enough as it is 🙄.

Very pretty snowflake card Kathy with great stencilling, and one of my favourite Christmas sentiment sets! Personally I love to see the pic of the finished card (the bigger the better!) plus it is handy to see your materials pic, but the pic of the back and envelope is secondary unless they are different from the main card in some way.
Sorry the storm curtailed your plans though probably a very wise decision. It curtailed our weekend away as we came home a bit early as the weather was so rotten, and we did have some storm damage both outside and inside the house! xx

This is a beautiful stencilled snowflake and love the shades of blue Kathy, and the gems add a really pretty sparkle. Sorry the storm curtailed your outing but it was a bad one and wise not to travel. With regard to the photos, personally like Sarn and Val just the main photo is all I really like to see. x

A beautiful snowflake card Kathy, lovely colour combination. I agree with the comments above re the back and the envelope, especially if it means extra work for you.
Glad Storm Darragh has moved away. Thankfully no damage here as far as we know, but five doors a roof tile came off and smashed through their car windscreen, which was parked on their drive.
Liz xx

I love your festive snowflake card, Kathy! Perfect coloring! I have been off the computer making Christmas cards and avoiding the news, so I haven't heard about the terrible storm. I went off just now and looked it up ... how awful! Glad you stayed home in that!

I agree with the others about your photos. We all know how you thoughtfully embellish all sides of your cards and your envies, so it's one less thing to do as Val said. Thank you for inspiring everyone to use their NBUS! Happy Holiday Hugs, Darnell
