Recently returned from Florida, talk about timing ... Hurricane Helene breezed through just before we arrived and so visits to many of our usual west coast haunts were out of the question. We hadn't been there a week when Hurricane Milton headed right for us! I guess it's a risk you take when vacationing in Hurricane season but we've never been so close in time or distance to two hurricanes before! Milton was a doozy and it was a VERY scary night but we made it through to morning with both power and water (and thus A/C - very important!) but appreciate we were so very lucky as there were many who were not so luck and quite close to our location.

We were there to achieve a few jobs, the first of which was to get the pool resurfaced! That was tricky and we ended up leaving before it was TOTALLY finished!!!

BEFORE photo, doesn't look too bad until you get up close!

Day two - old surface off and new edge tiles on

Day three: new surface complete and filling
the pool has started - it took EIGHTEEN HOURS

Still, it looks good, doesn't it?

And, during an early visit to a DIY store - we saw they were both preparing for hurricane's AND Christmas in early October!

And, post Milton, we had some dramatic evening skies ...

AND the cutest little tree frogs .. gotta love that macro setting on my phone's camera!

And, of course, there was pumpkin carving as we were there for Halloween!

Aww bless, guess they were supervising!

Fabulous card, Kathy. Your little Santa is adorable. Glad you survived Hurricane Milton, I’m sure it must have been a scary time.

Your Santa card is very jolly and lovely in traditional red.

Not the best of starts to your time in Florida (to say the least) - but glad all was well. Updated pool looks very inviting!

Happy Saturday! x
