Youโve got some songs on that playlist that I like a lot! Particularly 1, 2, 3(!), 5, 7(!), and 8(!).
Some not on there that would definitely need to be on a Summer Songs playlist that I concocted for myself would be โSummerโ by War, and โThe Warmth Of The Sunโ & โAll Summer Longโ by The Beach Boys. (Helck, Iโd probably wind up putting the entire Beach Boys album โEndless Summerโ on my playlist!)
What a nice playlist. My favorite here was the video of Summer in the City; I loved that song so when it came out that I bought the 45. The vintage images, so well put together. I am not a Kid Rock fan but thatโs another song I really like, possibly because the music is a mash up of three other songs I really like. Very nice, and, as ht as this summer was, Iโm not going to be happy to see it end. Why? Because it means winter is on its way.
Glad you enjoyed the playlist, Alana! Kid Rock put together a memorable summer tune, made from, as you said, three other great songs. Iโm with about summer, and will take heat over cold, any day!
So, are you trying to tell me that you like summer? lol If I lived in Canada, I probably would love the warmer months. Okay, โloveโ is a bit of a stretch but Iโd sure like it better than Canadian winters. Your playlist is fantastic with all of these oldies. Iโm not for The Red Hot but love all the others. Now if I had a 1957 convertible, with the big fins, Iโd play these tunes while cruising down some old highway.

Coming from London, I had two โSummer Recordsโ that I enjoyed every year. โSummer In The Cityโ, which you listed, and โLong Hot Summerโ by The Style Council, released in 2004. (May not be known in Canada) I also have a fondness for Will Smithโs โSummertimeโ. It is the hottest day of the year so far here, 34C. (93F) Too hot for most people in England.

That sure is hot for England! Itโs been a summer of extremes everywhere. Weโve had extreme heat along with extreme rain, but today feels like fall. Go figure! I donโt know those last two songs you me mentioned, but remember Will Smith used to be a rapper. Found this:
