Wednesday, already?

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... using an elderly embossing folder, some embossing powder and numerous inks - satisfyingly messy!

My inked and embossed (wet and dry) C6 card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and navy
  • Snippets of card in white and navy
  • Using a brayer I applied Distress Inks in: broken china, stormy sky, salty ocean
  • I ran the inked panel through my Big Shot inside a Sizzix "circles" embossing folder
  • Using Distress Ink blueprint sketch I dragged the pad over the "raised" section
  • Having decided that it needed something else, once the blue ink was dry I lightly dragged my Versamark embossing ink over the raised section before sprinkling (and shaking off the excess) silver embossing powder which I then heat set - getting the desired effect of a patchy (kind of grungey) embossed panel and giving more interest
  • TCP sentiment (from S.5845.CL) stamped using Versafine Clair twilight ink
  • Elsewhere on the card I used the Tim Holtz image that matched the embossing folder (CSS30201) and Memento gray flannel ink, to co-ordinate my design

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Seize the Birthday - challenge No. 278 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) USE RED
  2. Can You Handle The Pressure - Feb 24th challenge - SQUARES and/or CIRCLES
  3. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 224 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 248 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Gem of a Challenge - challenge No. 4 - ANYTHING GOES

I love the shades of blue and the added silver embossing Kathy, and such a pretty embossing folder, and the finish with the sentiment strip across the card looks wonderful. x
