Well finally I got the center of this quilt done – and no I haven’t taken the time to count the hexies LOL – I would really have to spread it out and see if I could do a quarter of it and see if I could keep track. Now I will think a week or so on it and decide the background color(s) and see what I want. I did get the pieces cut out and started for the next NYB block

And I got this far with it.

Two of the three Thanksgiving Cactus’s are beginning to get buds. Not many but a few

And that is about it for yesterday – I forgot to take quilting photos so I will catch up on Arkansas Traveler Saturday. I was busy grocery shopping and cleaning house yesterday

Your hexie quilt looks amazing. It would be interesting to know how many hexies you’ve used LOL!
I’m way behind in reading/commenting on blogs, but I love seeing your NYB as it progresses. Those batiks looks fabulous together! And Noriko’s Star is really taking shape now. I’m impressed (as usual)!
It’s been a busy time these last couple of weeks, but things should slow down a bit now that we’ve had some snow and the days are colder. Everything seems to get packed into Sept.-Oct. as Vermonters prepare for the long winter ahead.
My cactus that has all white blooms is full of blooms! Now inside for the winter as it has been 33, 31, and 36 degrees last several nights! Love Noriko’s Star. And you are making me want to try the NYB quilt! It is so unique! Love your color choices.
Oh NS is looking even more spectacular! Your next NYB block is coming along nicely.
Noriko’s Star is so big and pretty! Will there be more hexies, or is the rest of it something different?
Noriko’s Star is so impressive. You do amazing work, Karen!
Congratulations on getting NS to this point! That is a big commitment. Your next NYB block has a lot of small pieces! I like the way it has the dark triangles going opposite of each other in this section. I think you said your daughter and granddaughter were coming for a visit this weekend – have fun!
Wow, that is awesome! What a gorgeous quilt this is/will be when complete! Will you quilt it by hand also? The NYB block does have a lot of pieces, but it will be gorgeous with the colors you’ve chosen! Have a wonderful weekend, Karen!
Yes! Look at Noriko’s Star!! I keep watching my one cactus—nothing yet!
One of these days I will do a NYB. We have a presenter coming in 2024 to do a class, so I have that option if the bug doesn’t take me sooner. LOL
I have buds on 10 of my 16 cactus plants. Some are loaded with buds and others just a few buds. It looks like I’ll have a lot blooming at once. I didn’t have the colors marked on some of them so I’ll be sure to mark them with a stake this year.
I am in awe of all these hexies, Karen…yes so many and so beautiful together. I would love to see those buds now bloom and perhaps be open for your thanksgiving which would be nice.
Simply stunning!
Hear us all applauding! It’s beautiful.
