In between a doctor appointment (yes I got meds now lets see if they work) and a run to the pharmacy to pick them up – an initial appointment for physical therapy won’t be until November 6th – but an appointment was made– I got one more New York Beauty done
This one is called Cuttlefish I wasn’t sure if the light color on the arc with the red would work out right but when you see it on the wall I think you will see why I thought a light area was needed. I don’t want all the blocks to be dark and want the light to be scattered through out.

So what one might ask is a Cuttlefish well this is an interesting looking fish!

The design wall – the quilt will be 70 inches wide plus border will be I think – 96 x 106 so that is a big border to go around it – but this is how wide the blocks will be going across. Linking to From Bolt to Beauty — Wendy’s Quilts and More — Confessions of a Fabric Addict — Alycia Quilts —

More work was done on the hexies and Noriko’s Star is growing I am currently working on the 3rd of the 5 pieces that were being added to the center.

Quilting on the end of the row grid for Arkansas Traveler from Wednesday night and it was rolled down last night and on to the next area.

I have a hair cut scheduled for this afternoon but that is about all I need to do when out so I should have time to get to work on another block. It started to rain yesterday and we should get off and on rain almost every day for a week.

NYB is going to be a gorgeous quilt! I think you’ve done a great job of balancing the light and dark so far. Hopefully the meds have kicked in and your are at least more comfortable now. It may be a good thing to put of PT just a bit, it gives things a chance to heal a bit before you start working those muscle groups.
I’m just stunned every time I see a new NYB block – they are all so pretty and unique and they feature the batiks so well. Take care and hope your medication works!
Doesn’t the NYB make you happy? It is so beautiful! Love the new block! Great progress on Noriko and your hand quilting. I hope the meds are helping.
That’s a neat block! I really like the sideways pointing triangles. I’m amazed that you can do a whole block in a day! Hope the meds work for you and your back starts to feel better.
Your New York Beauty is turning out great! I love batiks, and this pattern is on my bucket list. Thanks for sharing your projects and the thought process about color choices and other challenges. It’s very helpful.
Cuttlefish is a beautiful block! I hope your meds work quickly. My mom has had great luck with PT in regard to her back. I managed to get out a doing a little gardening work today.
Those NYB blocks are beautiful. I agree with adding the lighter into the rounds. It adds movement to the quilt. Hope you have a great day.
I hope you new meds help you but your paint doesn’t seem to be slowing you down. AT must be getting near the end soon. You’ve been making great progress on it.
I don’t think I have seen a NYB block with flying geese in it before. I like the light background.
Your NYB is terrific. I like the light you added to this one. My brother asked me to make a quilt to replace a very old log cabin. He couldn’t describe what he wanted but when I showed him the small Radiant NYB I’m working on he immediately said that was it. I really like this pattern you’re using with the extra rows of arcs. I’m off to shop for fabric soon.
Oh wow!! cuttlefish is amazing!
I really like seeing them all up there together – its such a great Riot of Colors!
