Does the rip stand for RIP?
I do not hope so and I hope the colors do not stand for anything - here is the whole mural (again from Braunschweig´s West):
I hope Ukraine comes out of that war soon and as "winner" 💙💛.
As winning as that can be with the broken country...
No idea how they want to do that without loads of help, but from whom?
In the news they called Germany the "sick, old man of Europe"...
This is for Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.
Henry 🦁
To strength...
And to biggest Niece, who turns 13 today!
My poor Brother - he has a teenager at full blast (I heard the drama over the phone (only, thankfully)).
(Mean) addendum due to Elizabeth´s comment (which is not mean at all!!!)...
The local soccer-team has these colors as well.
And the stadium. Second league or such.
We live near the stadium and see how police is needed due to the Hooligans.
On our tax-money, too.
Police is not available for real stuff in these times, either.
Come American Football no police is needed, just saying. Same place, too, so I do know.
I have been there more than often in person. Once security "against" Orange (horrible in soccer).
Only those Security-guys stayed who love American Footy. Cause "we" are no hooligans.
2008 - game with (not against!!!) the second-strong team, Hamburg (Braunschweig was first).
As Ingo was sick I took my Mom. She saw nothing of the game but happily chatted away in Hamburg-slang with "the other fans". Of "The Blue Devils" (Hamburg is BLUE as the ocean where it sits).
Thank you, Elizabeth, for correcting me. It´s not about the stupid, mindless war (?) but about soccer and a person who likely feels like myself, seeing the hooligans.
(I feel sorry for the soccer-players).

It certainly implies Rest in Peace.
I hope they keep standing and then building up in Ukraine.
Fun-fact: The soccer-team, now that you mention, has the colors, too!
Thanks for adding the additional information about this mural, Iris. I am glad you took time to update the information about the mural and share the soccer team colors.
Elizabeth, thank YOU :-)
And, yes, the Braunschweig (or sadly now New Yorker, according to the sponsor of flippy clothes and music so loud I cannot visit their stores) Lions, is Red-Black-White.
Red like our city emblem, a ... lion :-)
Certainly colourful for a RIP mural. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals Iris.
Henry is standing proud with all his hair flying away :)
Sami, today Henry would "sweat" - summer pays a visit!
Good question. I don't know what it means. Sorry I missed stopping by yesterday, but we were out early and home late. I was exhausted and in bed early. Hope you had a great weekend! hugs-Erika
...perhaps he just wants to smile, keep smiling.
When I see RIP in call caps, I think: Requiescat in Pace. (May s/he) Rest in Peace.
Erika, your weekend sounds GREAT - I hop over to hopefully find out more :-) Hugs

Tom, you always find the positive - thank you!
CJ... Good one!
I have no cat, but whilst typing a parked sun-brolly decided to let go. I nearly got a heart attack. Maybe a cat would be too much for jumpy me ;-)
Please say no to that!!!
We live quite near the Michigan football stadium. Sometimes the fans — who park their cars throughout our neighborhood — leave a bit of trash, but usually they behave perfectly! 100,000 people in the stadium … sometimes a few arrests for being too drunk. A very different story! The only downside is the inevitable traffic.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
I think here they have too much freedom. And cannot handle it.
Very sad.
I've been enjoying what I could see of the World Cup games. 3 in the morning here, though. Not my most alert time lol
I always think RIP means rest in peace.
Divers and Sundry, I missed it all?
3am... no.

Bill - I hope it does not mean this for Ukraine (I don´t care about the soccer-team, though!)...
What Skeletor is doing there is puzzling.
Well, we all stand up for Ukraine and want them to win the war. It is so awful, seeing it on the TV News, even here in Hawaii. When will it end?
William, maybe he thinks about hooligans?

gigi. I so wish I could answer your question. Like, "now! The war ... all wars and NOW!"...
Fans of sports can often go overboard.
I only know this (here) from soccer (luckily).
Henry looks so regal and dignified as he should!
Is that an actual crack on the wall. The bricks kind -of works with the mural, too. :D
Henry says, thank you, Sir, nice to please you! :-)
_____
dee Nambiar, I think the crack is real indeed - the owner has the wall up for students to officially get creative!
Henry sits face to the wind as I do :)
What is it about soccer that turns men into hooligans and thugs?
When I was very young in a small country town, my dad played soccer and there was none of that shameful behaviour from the people watching, not even later when they all shared beers in the clubhouse.
When did the bad behaviour start? I always get to thinking let the teams play but no spectators in the grounds, let them all watch on TV at home. But not watch in pubs because then there will be fighting.
