This week at
it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's saying, "Christmas or New Year?" which means she would like to see a project themed around one of those two occasions.
Not a big New Year's Eve (or day, really) person. Do love me some Christmas though. So, this is what I did......
Not too long ago, a local scrapbook store had a garage sale where people could bring in items to sell....gotta love getting crafty deals!! Picked up this clear stamp....I believe it's from Woodware...for next to nothing. (I'd share the "next to nothing" amount but I don't actually remember. But, seeing as I'm a big ole cheapie, it's pretty safe for me to say "next to nothing".) Did some paper piecing for the letters then, and I should mention, I pretty much was peeing in my pants while doing this, stamped the Jingle all the way last. Luckily, it worked out. Not exactly ecstatic about that stamping job but at least it was good enough that no fixing (or peeing) was required.
This card is bigger than what I would normally make, because of the size of the stamp. Most of my cards are around 4.5" x 4.5" or or about an A2 card size, this one is 6.25" x (just shy of) 5". Surprisingly, it doesn't look giant, again, I think that's the stamp's doing.
So, why not give our challenge a go this week and join us? And, if you'd like more inspiration, be sure to check out what the Girlfriends have made.
