Monday and the start of another week ...

Morning readers,

How was your weekend? I hope you had a good one, maybe even had some nice plans. It was bittersweet for us as we had dinner with friends that we shan't be seeing again for a while, which is always a shame.

I've a make to share with you today ....... I just love the grunginess of the foiling using a glue stick! This is part of a "sentiment free" commission so there's actually no stamping on this card - pretty unusual for me!

My C6 card

A closer view of the glue stick foiling

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and purple, for my card front, insert and matting
  • Scrap of card from which I die cut a square, to use as a mask
  • With my mask taped in place and using a makeup brush, I applied Memento sweet plum ink
  • Overlaying my Tim Holtz "bubbles" stencil (from set No. 5) I rubbed a glue stick over the stencil, burnishing with my fingers, to get the glue stick coverage more complete
  • After leaving it for a short while, to start to "dry" I applied a sheet of gold foil, again burnishing firmly with my fingers and leaving it to "dry" properly ..... before then removing the foil
  • Elsewhere on the card I used the sweet plum ink and the same Tim Holtz stencil

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 664 - CLEAN AND SIMPLE
  2. The Paper Players - challenge No. 641 - USE ONE OF SOMETHING (in this case stencil, rather than image, I hope this counts
  3. Kraftin' Kimmie - challenge No. 668 - GLITTER/FOIL and FLOWERS/PURPLE (I went with purple and foil)
  4. HLS - May STENCIL challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 255 - ANYTHING GOES

Love the detail on your central square Kathy - the foil detail against the soft pink adds great faux texture. Thanks for playing along with my CAS challenge over at The Paper Players this week!
