Wednesday .... downhill to the weekend!

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... Not too long ago I was commissioned to make eight "nautical" themed cards. Now, as we are always our own worst critics, it occurred to me that I should make more than eight - to give the "commissionee" choices. Little did I realise how hard it was to make more than eight with the same theme ...... particularly as I didn't have too many suitable images, though I DID have a couple of fairly child-like images so I MIGHT include one of those! However, a friend came to my aid and loaned me a couple of sets with multiple nautical images on them so ....... here's one using her stash

My 3½" x 4⅞" card

And a closer view of the colouring and "glass" effect

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 3½" x 4⅞" card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and navy for my card front, insert and matting
  • All images and sentiments from a Creative Stamping "free with magazine" set from issue #CS95 and stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist and twilight inks - using the positive and negative mask to aid my stamping of the ship inside the bottle and adding the "sand" below too
  • I masked off the bottom of my bottle before adding the "sand" grounding using a makeup brush and Brilliance pearlescent beige ink
  • Copic markers used to colour my image and Anita's dimensional gloss to add the "glass" to my bottle

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
        1. Crafts Galore Encore - challenge No. 110 - ANYTHING GOES
        2. Love To Craft - challenge No. 73 - ANYTHING GOES
        3. Creative Fingers - challenge No. 251 - ANYTHING GOES - 3rd final entry
        4. Lift Challenge - challenge No. 178 - MAKE YOUR OWN MASK
        5. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 2313 - ANYTHING GOES
I was fortunate enough to have been picked as a TOP ROCKER over at 613 Avenue Create earlier this week - thanks so much, it really is appreciated.

Monday morning's walk was in BRIGHT sunshine, by contrast to the rather more soggy weekend!

Some of my near neighbours topiary
        I THINK it's Anubis!

These two trees are just such a lovely shape

And this has to be THE laziest pigeon too! SLEEPING on our bird table!!!

I guess that, for him/her, life really IS good!

I thought I recognised the stamps Kathy as I have this freebie set too, and you have made a wonderful card using the ship inside the bottle, and have fired me up to get this set out and do something more with it, and maybe putting something in one of the bottles..I think there were two in the set. I love your photos especially the topiary which does look like Anubis..very cleverly done and lovely to have a couple of nice sunny days..back to the normal grey skies and rain here today though worse luck..lol. x

hahahaha, your sleeping pigeon is too full to leave the feeder! Sometimes, we see birds "resting" on our feeder, too. They become "hogs" and won't let other birds come 'round. But there are 4 spots for the birds, and they usually share. That ship in a bottle image is fabulous, especially with the tag! And I like your take of placing it on the sand, and making the glass obviously shiny. Great card! Your neighbor will be happy with the choices, and may end up purchasing them all!

I love your card Kathy but unfortunally I am afraid that it is not fitting our challenge. Please check the technique we show on the liftchallenge blog. Maybe it inspires you to try it again. Nevertheless your card is beautiful.
