Monday and the start of another week

Morning readers,

Hope you all had a great weekend and that the cold weather didn't spoil any plans you may have had. The slippery pavements did curtail my walking, AGAIN, can't wait for it to warm up so I can start going out again - before the scales scream "one at a time"!!! Those Christmas pounds won't lose themselves!

I've a make to share with you today ....... inspired by a make by Sam Squires on FB - I CASE'd it below. Sam used a gorgeous stencil by Funky Fossil but I had to improvise, but it made a Quick, Clean And Simple card which I'm quite pleased with - thanks Sam!

My 6" x 4" card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 6" x 4" (15cm x 10cm) card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and raspberry, for my card front, insert and matting
  • With my Tim Holtz stencil (THMS035) in place and using an Aldi stencil brush and a makeup brush, I applied first Memento dandelion and then Memento rosebud inks
  • Uniko sentiment (from Art Decoratif Anniversaire) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Cardz4Galz - challenge No. 190 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  2. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 647 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  3. TGIF - challenge No. 404 - BIRTHDAY
  4. Gem of a Challenge - challenge No. 2 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Stencil Fun - January challenge - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) WINTER

And now for an Artist Trading Card ..... measuring just 3½" x 2½"

My ATC

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of card in white and turquoise
  • I spritzed my white snippet with water and then sprinkled Turquoise brusho, till I was happy with the coverage .... I then set it aside to dry
  • Using the large fonted sentiment (from Stamplorations "Discover) I stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • On to a separate snippet of white card I stamped the "your passion" from the same Stamplorations set using Versafine Clair nocturne ink before cutting it close and edging with a black sharpie pen
  • StudioLight image (SL455) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Finally, once my panels had been edged with black sharpie pen and assembled, I gave the whole project a quick spritz with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine, to protect the water based paints

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Love to Craft - challenge No. 72 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Polkadoodles - challenge No. 3 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafty Calendar - January challenge - ADD A SENTIMENT

A very pretty card Kathy … love the soft colours on the stencilling. Also a fabulous and very funky ATC as I can testify personally as it is sitting proudly in my album 😀

This rose stencil design looks great used over part of the background Kathy, and the colours are really pretty, and then the brighter more grungy background on the ATC with some great stencilled dots and letters with a lovely sentiment to finish. x

Two absolutely fabulous makes Kathy! Both different yet each one just right - love the softness of your card and as usual your ATC gets me thinking I do need to give it a try sometime soon - at least in 2023? Laughed about the scales business - mine squeal - 'someone get off!'. At least you CAN walk properly when the ground isn't icy - it's too cold and icy to even go out for a little 'bumble' on the Purple Peril right now. But, the darkness is actually coming later - which means that Spring will follow before too long. And you'll be out there striding along before you know it.

Hugs

Di xx

Glad it’s not quite so icy today, but it’s still so cold. Roll on spring!

Love your card, the stencilling with the two colours is so pretty. Super ATC, I love the sentiment bbXx
