It's the weekend, got plans?

Morning readers,

Here's hoping this post finds you all well, having enjoyed a good week too. Got plans for the weekend too? We're expecting guests to join us for dinner this evening so that should be fun.

Was meeting a pal for coffee yesterday, at an often visited location that opens at 09:00. We arrived at 10 only to find the place obviously closed, outer doors locked and lights off! We weren't the only puzzled people either. We opted to leave our cars in their parking lot and walk to a competitor a few hundred yards away. We enjoyed a coffee there but, before ordering a second, thought we'd ring the first to see if they'd opened - call dropped out so we enjoyed a second beverage before returning to our cars two hours after parking. They were open at that time - I do find myself wondering if the staff were surprised by a number of vehicles in the parking lot ..... I know at least four other people did exactly the same thing we did, because we followed them!

I've a make to share with you today ....... I'm making "nautical themed" cards for a commission and the LIM theme of "OUTDOORS" seemed to fit perfectly so .....
My C6 card

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6/A2 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and dark blue, for my card front, insert and matting
  • With my Simon Says Stamp mask (Spheres masks/stencil) in place and using a makeup brush, I applied Memento Bahama blue around the outer edge of my mask, leaving the centre as ink free as possible
  • Stampendous sailboat and seagulls (from SSC2006 - 2022) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne and morning mist inks, using second generation stamping for the seagulls to give the illusion of distance
  • Clearly Besotted sentiment (from mini calligraphy -Feb 2021) stamped on to a snippet of white card using Versafine Clair warm breeze ink and cut in to a banner shape
  • Once my card was "finished" I decided to revisit the inked shape and, with the aid of my mask and a piece of scrap paper I added further Bahama blue to mark the line between sky and sea!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Less Is More - challenge No. 478 - OUTDOORS
  2. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 638 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  3. HLS - Nov BIRTHDAY challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Seize the Birthday - challenge No. 251 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) MANY OF SOMETHING
  5. As You See It - challenge No. 288 - I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER (vacation activities - in this instance - sailing)

Hubby and I had a bit of a day out earlier in the week, well, the car was due a service and a loan car had been arranged. We had a buyagift.com voucher (for afternoon tea for two) to redeem so ... after dropping the car we headed for an outlet mall near the garage. We wandered about a bit, did a little Christmas shopping and landed at the restaurant specified in the Buyagift.com voucher (Patisserie Valerie) and sat down to afternoon tea - it was really very nice indeed, thank you so much for giving it to us, Chris and Becky. Check out what we enjoyed ...

I scrolled through your posts and see that we have a lot of stamps in common. It is good to see how you use them; thanks for a lot of inspiration! Hugs, Gerrina

Vibrant colours along with a lovely CAS design make a beautiful entry, Kathy. Sailing is a great vacation activity no matter the size of the sailboat and we used to spend some lovely quality time on our friends' sailboats before we got our own small one! Thanks for contributing to our theme at As You See It Challenges.
