Morning readers,
How's your week been? We've had an interesting week .. I had one of those "buyagift.com" vouchers to redeem so we booked a table, at a city centre venue, for Monday, went in on the bus - just in case we decided to "make a night of it". A walk around the harbourside and a bevy "en route" to the restaurant - really nice. Bus home was a good idea! We had planned to take the bus in to the city again on either Wednesday or today ... to try out the food truck area but, frankly, it was just too darn hot! We'll try again once the heatwave breaks .... how are you all coping with the heat? And the lack of rain?
I've a make to share with you today ....... I seem to be on a roll with anniversary cards lately. I realised I had a gap in my "stock" so set about rectifying that with a batch of four and then a handful of individual cards too - since I can't send two from my batch to the same family!!!
I've a make to share with you today ....... I seem to be on a roll with anniversary cards lately. I realised I had a gap in my "stock" so set about rectifying that with a batch of four and then a handful of individual cards too - since I can't send two from my batch to the same family!!!
Materials used:
- White, 250gsm, C6/A2 card and matching envelope
- White card and gold pearl card, for my card front, insert and matting
- Visible Image heart image (INKognito heart dating from 2014) stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red ink
- On the card front and whilst the heart image was still not quite dry, I sprinkled Judikins "sticky stuff" embossing powder and (after shaking off the excess) heat set. Whilst still hot (and thus still "sticky") I applied gold foil, firmly burnishing with my fingers - it gives such a lovely grungey finish to the foiling which, IMHO opinion, perfectly matches the grungey heart image
- Hero Arts sentiment (from CL342 dating from 2011) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
- Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 2232 - ANYTHING GOES
- Retro Rubber - challenge No. 188 - ANYTHING GOES
- Creative Inspirations - August challenge - ANYTHING GOES
- Ellibelle's Crafty Wednesday - August challenge - ANYTHING GOES
- TTCRD - August 2nd challenge - ANYTHING GOES
And now, having covered a happy occasion, I have a make for a sad occasion. A card we crafters all hate to make but pretty much always need to have on hand. This one has been made without an immediate need ... I find them easier to make that way.
Materials used:
- White, 250gsm, 3½" x 4⅞" card and matching envelope
- Card in white, grey and black, for my card front, insert and matting
- Visible Image background (from "edgy") stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
- Magenta stalks (23640-H) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
- TCP sentiment (from S.5845.CL) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

Two super cards here Kathy.
The glitzy anniversary card is fun.
Love the image placement and inking of the sympathy card. Perfect.
You’re right - it’s best to have a sympathy card to hand as we don’t feel inclined to craft when sad. Xxx
Hi Kathy, I love your card the heart looks amazingly reflective. Thank you for sharing at TTCRD, Jane.
That is a wonderful grungy looking heart in that beautiful bright red and the added gold foil looks fabulous Kathy, and the sympathy card is perfect..love the again quite grungy look of the border, another lovely VI set, and the added stalks which look a little like seed heads work perfectly over the top and love the soft grey tones. Glad you've had a good week and hope you have a lovely weekend. x

Fabulous heart stamp and great foiling on your anniversary card, and the sympathy card is very understated and lovely - you are right it's a good idea to have one available for when sad occasions occur and mojo leaves the building!
