Wednesday, downhill to the weekend!

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... my take on a technique I saw recently demonstrated by Chrissie Stokes. She actually made a video of how she made hers, I've added it to the bottom of this post and hope you enjoy it as much as I did. Of course, the only vellum I could lay my hands on (quickly) had gold print on it but I thought "what the heck, at least it's not going to be a direct copy!!! I like the way it turned out too - shame it was the only piece of vellum with that design on it - must look out some more .....

My C6 card
And a closer view of the vellum panel

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, C6/A2 card and matching envelope
  • Card in white and ? for my card front, insert and matting
  • Snippets of card in white and gold printed vellum
  • Nesting rectangle dies by MFT and WRMK for my image panel frame
  • Kaisercraft leaf image (from their "Botanica" set) stamped on the printed vellum panel, using Versamark clear embossing ink, and then sprinkled with funstamps white embossing powder and heat set. On the reverse side of the vellum, the same image was then stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • HLS sentiment (from "Doodled flowers") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Seize The Birthday - challenge No. 243 - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) COLOUR CHALLENGE OF PURPLE/BLUE/GREEN
  2. HLS - July DIES challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Beyond The Blue - challenge No. 66 - HEAT EMBOSSING
  4. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 621 - CAS (Clean And Simple)
  5. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 186 - ANYTHING GOES

The above make was inspired by a video made by Chrissie Stokes ... check out her technique here.

This is a wonderful idea stamping and embossing using vellum and it looks great Kathy and starting with the script already on the vellum works well and the stitched rectangular aperture to hold the vellum then held in place by the stitched frame is the perfect way to show it off..a beautiful card. x
