Morning readers,
Hope you've had a good week, and even managed to enjoy some good weather. We've embraced our almost newfound freedom by dining with a pal yesterday .... we've all been doing twice weekly lateral flow tests so know neither of us has the dreaded virus - it was a really lovely evening too.
I've a make to share with you today ....... it's the dreaded OLC (One Layer Card) week over at Less Is More and these often cause me to scratch my head but this morning's theme (of MONOGRAM) made it fairly easy for me.
I've a make to share with you today ....... it's the dreaded OLC (One Layer Card) week over at Less Is More and these often cause me to scratch my head but this morning's theme (of MONOGRAM) made it fairly easy for me.
Materials used:
- White, 300gsm, 6" square card and matching envelope
- White card, cut to fit, as my insert
- Clearly Besotted heart stencil used, with a makeup brush, to apply a light cover of Distress oxide in candied apple to the outer rim of the large heart
- Inkadinkado ampersand stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
- Paper Artsy alphabet (from set ESA21) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
- Elsewhere on the card I stamped my Clearly Besotted greeting (from mini calligraphy) using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
- Mini crystal gemstones adhered to the dots on the ampersand
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
- Simply Less Is More - challenge No. 446 - OLC/MONOGRAM

And now, I've a little Artist Trading Card to share with you .... a little piece of art measuring just 2½"x3½" - I used the absolute "funnest" set of drunken chickens too, so cute ........... that's a party I'd be happy to attend!
Materials used:
- ATC blank
- Snippets of leftover card in black and white
- Paper Artsy drunken chickens and sentiment (all from ZA58) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
- Using a makeup brush and Adirondack purple twilight ink, I applied colour through my Tim Holtz mini stencil (THMS106) avoiding the images themselves, after removing the stencil, I applied further colour around the outside edges and particularly to the corners
- Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour my "chooks"
- Once matted on to my black base layer I used a white Tsukineko gelly roll gel pen to just add a couple of doodles to the black mat
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

- Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 160 - ANYTHING GOES

Hi Kathy, a sweet olc and love the tipsy chook atc. the bright colours look fabulous with the black card framing it. Thank you for joining us at Lil Patch of Crafty Friends, good luck in the prize draw... Megan DT LPoCF
This is a great way to use the monogram theme Kathy and I love the shaded masked heart in that pretty colour with your two sets of initials across it, and also that great bit of bling on the 'and'. Your ATC is really fun and love the bright stencilled background with that quirky chicken. x
I found it a very difficult way of making a card. Most of the challenges I have no problems with it, but monogrammatic??? Pffff. But at last I succeeded in making one. Have a nice day, Ankie
Great cards! Thanks for joining us at Watercooler Wednesday Challenge!
Great monogram card Kathy, I’m glad you found it easy! Love those drunken chickens too! Thanks for playing along with us at Less is More.
What a super fun ATC! Those drunken chickens are a hoot! I like how you were able to stencil the background without creating masks for the chickens. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Stencil Challenge.
