Wednesday, downhill to the weekend - YAY!

Morning readers,

Doesn't take long to reach the mid-point of yet another week and one which, hopefully, sees us continue to edge closer to some form of normal! I'm due my second Covid vaccination today too .... that's probably why it's raining this morning!

I've a make to share with you today ....... with it having recently been "Rudolph Day" my thoughts had turned to Christmas (like you do, in April!) so, whilst I was thinking about Christmas cards I thought I might as well run up another! I thought I would use some patterned paper (something I don't use a lot of these days) as well as a much loved but elderly set of Penny Black clear stamps and what you see below is the result. I also got the chance to break out my under used twinkling H2O's .. why DON'T I use those more often?

My C6 card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope
To better show the watercolour and sparkle details

Materials used:
  • White, C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching envelope
  • Snippets of card in white, Bo Bunny patterned paper (from their Silver and Gold stack) and deep red textured cardstock, cut to fit and mat
  • MFT Die used to cut my sentiment panel
  • Penny Black poinsettia (from "Joyous") and Clearly Besotted sentiment (from "mini calligraphy") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne and morning mist inks
  • Twinkling H2O's (irish mist and garnet) used to watercolour the poinsettia
  • Dimensional foam pads used to adhere the sentiment panel
  • Crystal stickles to bling up the poinsettia

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. 52CCT - April Challenge - STAMPING
  2. HLS - April watercolour challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafty Hazelnuts Patterned Paper Challenge - April challenge - USE PATTERNED PAPER
  4. Penny Black - April challenge - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) CUTE
  5. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 556 - ALL ABOUT OCCASIONS
  6. The Holly and Ivy - challenge No. 93 - ANYTHING (Christmas) GOES

And I had enough of the textured deep red card to make a layered ATC .... so went ahead and .. DID!

My Artist Trading Card
My inked and stencilled layer

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of leftover card in white and grey/deep red textured card
  • Using a makeup brush I applied Distress inks in hickory smoke, vintage photo and aged mahogany
  • Overlaying my Aall & Create stencil (#111) I applied more hickory smoke
  • Diffusion 2623 "hour glass" image and Stamplorations sentiment (from "noteworthy") stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Once my inks were dry I gave them a quick spritz with Crafters Companion spray and shine, to protect those water based inks in transit!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 156 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 2117 - ANYTHING GOES

Beautiful paper and love the pretty PB image painted with your H2Os Kathy, and the number background goes beautifully with the hour glass and super sentiment. I hope you are feeling OK after your second jab...I have mine next Tuesday. x

Lovely sparkly Christmas card. I'm thinking that I may need to invest in some sparkling H2Os too! Like how you put the pieces of the card together. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers ~ Watercolour Challenge.
