Monday and we're off and running on another week ....

Morning readers,

Hope you are all enjoying your Easter holiday weekend AND some of the nice weather that's popped up here and there. We had a socially distanced bevy in the garden with friends on Saturday afternoon, it was just so lovely to be able to get together with friends .... in sunshine too!

I've a make to share with you today .......

My card
The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White, 250gsm, 6"x6" card and matching envelope
  • White/black and mid blue textured card, cut to fit and mat
  • Using a makeup brush and Memento gray flannel ink I added colour through my Aall & Create stencil (#111 - NBUS)
  • Aall & Create image (from #76) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne and paradise inks (the paradise ink is also NBUS)
  • Clearly Besotted sentiment (from mini calligraphy) stamped using Versafine Clair paradise ink
  • Arteza blue and Zig neon yellow water colour brush pens used to add a pop of colour to the train and lightbulb!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. HLS - April watercolour challenge
  2. NBUS - April challenge - USE NBUS
  3. Lost Coast Portal to Creativity - challenge No. 119 - NUMBERS
  4. Kraftin' Kimmie - challenge No. 575 - USE A STENCIL
  5. Pattie's Creations - challenge No. 181 - BIRTHDAY

Liked the design so much that I had another go, in a different colour - liked this too. Given it's similarity to the above make, I shan't be entering it for any challenges but ... check it out anyway!

I had placed myself under a stash buying ban for the New Year - has to be said that I'm not doing terribly well as the NBUS used above (and photographed below) arrived just last week!!! I was powerless to resist!

I've another make to share with you now ....... this time an ATC. If you are a regular visitor to my blog you will know that I NORMALLY take an ATC blank, cover it with a dark card before matting my image panel on to it but .. today is different and I bet you may wonder why. Well, I'll tell you, I FAILED to notice that one side of my black card had white writing on and yes, you guessed it, I applied glue to the plain side BEFORE I realised my  mistake. So, given that there are "no mistakes in art", I simply took another piece of white card and cut it to ATC size, to use as my image panel ...... also makes for a lovely thick (being 600 gsm by now!) ATC!!!! DOH!

I started with stencilling around the outer edge, then started with the stamping

Followed by more stamping, I DO love to layer stamped images!

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of leftover card in black and white (see explanation above)
  • Using a makeup brush I applied Memento gray flannel to the white card panel before overlaying my Tim Holtz stencil (THS002 "bubbles") and applying further gray flannel ink
  • Stamps used: Stampers Anonymous CMS155, Crafters Companion "Journall jottings" and Carabelle SM10159
  • Inks used: Memento gray flannel, London fog, tuxedo black and ladybug plus Versafine Clair nocturne and morning mist

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Gem of a Challenge - challenge No. 7 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Scrapping4Fun - challenge No. 189 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Paperbabe - challenge No. 141 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Polkadoodles - challenge No. 14 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. CraftyCatz - challenge No. 545 - ANYTHING GOES

Two super grungy cards. Funnily enough, even though I LOVE blue, I think I like the grey and yellow colour scheme the most! Mind you, I was up 'til 1am reading HP . . . so my eyes are bit tired this morning! LOL!

Terrific ATC with a super focal sentiment. Your (not so) secret ATC Base error is safe with me!

Happy Easter Monday xxx

I love both versions using the quirky A&C train Kathy, and that beautiful blue with black to frame the image on the first, and some soft stencilling which looks wonderful in the background, and then the grey with that touch of yellow, and another fun A&C stamp used as a background on the second. The ATC looks great with the dotty stencilling and the pop of red using that pretty star in a circle stamp goes beautifully with the various other stamps in grey and black, and a super sentiment too. x
