Saturday ... watch out, it's the WEEKEND!

Morning readers,

Well, as we got closer to the weekend ... the weather changed!! Oh My! A very gusty night Thursday and ..... the forecast for Friday was pants - I can only guess what's in store for us today and ..... for Easter! Had a very small window of opportunity for walking yesterday so, at 07:30 I dashed out for a half hour. I was home by 8 (the time the rain was due to start) and, at 08:10, we had HAIL! Phewwww - how lucky was that? Glad to have made it out in the fresh air AND to have made it back, DRY!

I've a make to share with you today .......A friend sent me a link to a technique video which deployed Versafine Clair inks and a gel plate, instead of paints and it struck a chord since I so love my Clair inks! It gave me the incentive to FINALLY unpack my polyplate, which I've had for at least 18 months (and probably longer) without ever removing from its packaging!  So, here was my VERY FIRST play with the distress square polyplate, Versafine Clair inks and some Dutchdoobadoo stencils ....

Perhaps I should have blended a bit more carefully with the top left!

Materials used:
  • Poly Plate from Craftyroo designs - Distress Square
  • Dutchdoobadoo Stencils: 470.715.120 "triangles", 470.715.603 "letters" and 470.715.157 "kialo"
  • Brayer
  • Versafine Clair inks: charming pink and purple delight

And the video, that set me off on this short journey? My thanks to Teresa Morgan (for the video) and also to Sarn for pointing me to it!

I took the top left print and turned it in to this card ......

Thanks for the virtual walk!

LOVE LOVE LOVE the backgrounds you made with your poly plate, and the finished card.

Brilliant ATC too - that thistle is very striking along with the big HELLO!

Have a great weekend.

Hugs, Sarn xxx

I love the shape of the gelli plate which gives that lovely uneven edge Kathy, and the two Clair inks looks great together and also the different stencils you have used to get four great results, and I adore that silhouette HA foliage stamp with the sentiment in black and a pretty lilac matted layer too. Then the ATC looks wonderful with the green and black to frame the pretty stamped thistle and stencilled background, and love that citrus ink and the white splatters, and a large 'hello' which finishes it beautifully. It's lovely to find a new to you path on your morning walk too. It's funny how you can have lived in an area for a long time and still find undiscovered bits quite close to home. x
