Weekend Wrap-up #335 – Last Week Off

Weekend Wrap-up is where I share my new books, as well as what happened here at (un)Conventional Bookworms and elsewhere in the blogoshpere. I’m linking up with the usual suspects, AKA Team Tynga’s Reviews and Caffeinated Reviewer.

STS #334

Stacking The Shelves, hosted by Tynga’s Reviews and Reading Reality is all about the latest additions to my library – virtual or actual, with books that are  bought, borrowed, won or ARCs  I will (probably) be reading soon. Without further ado, here’s what I added to my bloated shelves this past week:

The Clash of Yesterday cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upThe Shadow Box cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-upNot One of Us cover - (un)Conventional Bookworms - Weekend Wrap-up

The Clash of Yesterday is the introduction to a new series by one of my favorite authors, Sawyer Bennett! I’m excited 🙂 The Shadow Box and Not One of Us are both Kindle Fir

Thank you so much wifey! This graphic novel was a gift from Brandee 🙂

The Sunday Post #264 – Weekend Wrap-up

Kim @ The Caffeinated Reviewer, is our hostess with the mostest for the weekly Sunday Post where I’m wrapping things up. It is the perfect opportunity to share what happened here on my own blog, as well as some of the happenings elsewhere in the Blogosphere.

I finished all my grading on Thursday, thank goodness! There was some good, but there was also some not good at all, sadly… I’m glad it’s over with! I have also planned the whole semester for almost all my classes, I’ll be able to finish that off this weekend, I hope.

It’s been a fairly lazy week apart from the grading. But I did have a brunch with four of my colleagues on Tuesday, we were very good at not staying too close. And we had some amazing food and conversations – it felt so good to see someone outside of my immediate family!

On Monday, school starts again, so everything will be in full swing for us once more. I look forward to it, and I actually think my kids do as well. Two and a half weeks off where we can’t really do much has been a bit boring for them.

Glad your grading time is done! I’m sure that can be stressful. Hopefully things shape up to be a little closer to normal for you. Things here are slowly easing back to normal as our restaurants finally got to open again! It’s weird that they were ordered to close but the neighboring counties got to stay open. You just have to drive 10-20 minutes in any direction to get food. The governor or whoever it was that made that decision for our county wasn’t really thinking clearly other than trying to destroy small businesses. We’ve seen many of them have to close permanently because of their forced shutdown. It’s tragic.

Yay for new reads! These are new to me ones! I hope you enjoy them all!

My StS will be up tomorrow, so stop by then if you can!

    Have a GREAT day!

Sounds like a quiet week and always a good sign that you’re ready to go back. Fun gifts from Brandee. Ah, tuckered pups. 🙂

    Have a good week, Linda!

  3. That’s nice you were able to see friends. That’s so important right now, staying in contact with others, otherwise I think we’ll go nuts! And I hope school goes well. It must feel nice to have your planning almost done.

Awww cute pic of the doggies! 🙂

  4. Well done for getting all that grading done, Linda and I hope you and your pupils will enjoy returning to school. As for my week, it has been pretty crazy with a third lockdown and whether schools will be open or not?! But I did get some good books: finishing off the jolly good, nostalgic crime-fiction, The Mother’s Day Mystery by Peter Bartram. ? Take care and happy reading! ?

Yay on finishing your plans for the whole semester! I hope your kids are excited for the reopening as well. Have a good one ahead.

  6. Grading and getting plans nailed for the whole term sounds marvellous. I hope your return to school is smooth and enjoyable – and that the coming week is a peaceful, healthy one:).

  7. We will have to live with even stricter rules from Monday morning on. Only those kids, who will have to write their exams within the next few weeks or those who are having their last school year before going to university or into an apprenticeship are required to go to school. The others can go if parents need it or will have to learn with provided material at home. Ah yes … Not easy but I hope that this nightmare will be over before fall. Happy reading and thank you for the picture.

  8. Well I’m glad you got your tasks completed and set up for the new semester. I think the time off to relax is important though. I am glad to see you loved The Forever Girl. I’m hoping to have it for audio review. Have a great new semester!

Anne – Books of My Heart This is my Sunday Post

  9. I just saw that Sawyer Bennett one, it looks different from the other books I’ve read by that author! I have Kindred sitting on my table, need to read it so I can take it back for other teachers at my school to read. ARe your dogs dachshunds? I have two dachshunds too! Hope you have a good week.

  10. It’s awesome that you got to go out with friends!! Hopefully life will go back to normal soon. And those puppies are adorable!!! <3 I hope you enjoy your books. I splurged on a boxed set of one of Lisa Kleypas's historical series and I can't wait to finish the book I'm reading right now so I can start on that series. Happy reading!!

Congrats on getting the grading done AND planning the whole semester! Yay! And how nice to be able to spend time with people other than your immediate family. Even as an introvert, I miss my people time. I hope you have a great week back! HUGS <3

Sounds like a great Brunch! And I’m happy for you, you got the grading done. That always seems to me like a very hard thing to do.
Good luck with getting back to school this week.
Have a great week and happy reading.

  13. Glad you were able to finish up what you needed. It would be nice to chat with people other than those in your house. I look forward to going out again at some point.

    I love the puppies cuddling!

Have a great week, my friend! Happy Reading! Miss you lots! <3
