Wednesday - the week's half gone!

Morning readers,

Since Christmas is coming - I've put the decorations up on my blog - hope you will enjoy my new background, until January! Seasons Greetings dear readers and thank you so much for stopping by. I've really appreciated every comment left this year and I hope you will all continue to stop by and leave your comments - THANK YOU.

I've a make to share with you today ....... it uses a surprising amount of materials but I'm very pleased with my finished Artist Trading Card

My Artist Trading Card
My base card

Materials used:
  • ATC blank
  • Snippets of leftover card in both Kraft and white
  • On the Kraft layer I applied Distress Oxide antique linen through the Creative Expressions mini stencil (CEMSTILES) using a makeup brush
  • On the White layer, I overlaid my That's Crafty Stencil (tc016) and applied Memento tangelo, sweet plum and rich cocoa inks
  • Crafty Individuals sentiment and Rubbernecker thistle (497-11) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • StudioLight background text stamped using Memento grey flannel ink

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pixie's Crafty Workshop - challenge No. 392 - USE SNIPPETS
  2. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 147 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Simon Says Stamp - Monday challenge - FAVORITE TECHNIQUE ... I am LOVING stencilling and was happy to get to use two on this make
  4. Through The Craft Room Door - December challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Lemon Shortbread - challenge No. 134 - ANYTHING GOES

And now for another make, this time a card and .... rather surprisingly, it's NOT a Christmas card! It was, however, inspired by the talented Eileen Godwin - thanks Eileen!

My card
I'm HOPING you can see the background stencilling

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of 6" x 4" DCWV textured stack. cut to mat
  • Using low tack tape I masked off a pane on my card front and then applied Distress Ink in tumbled glass to the lower portion, using a makeup brush, applying a lighter covering of ink towards the middle
  • I overlaid my Penny Black holly stencil (25.006 "endearing") and applied Distress Ink in shabby shutters but found there must have been a smidge of residual ink not wiped off since it came out rather less green than I was expecting but ... actually, I rather liked it!
  • Taking my Art Impressions multiple tree stamp (E692) inked with Ranger Archival watering can I second generation printed it across where the two ink colours joined
  • I stamped my Stamp Cabana single tree (C492) and my TCP sentiment (S.5845.CL) using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Once I was done with the stamping I gave my inked panel a quick spritz with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine - to seal and protect those water based inks
  • Elsewhere on the card I applied Memento bamboo leaves through the stencil (so it wouldn't need sealing)

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 2049 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Corrosive Challenge - challenge No. 12 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Leanne's World - challenge No. 33 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Creative Moments - challenge No. 204 - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Crafty Sentiments - December 8th challenge - ANYTHING GOES

I was out for my daily walk on Monday and came across this "Christmas tree", it's a little unusual but, all the more festive for it ........ and not a monkey in sight either!

Stay safe and well

Love BOTH projects. Great stencilling and stamping overlays.

I like the alternative Xmas tree too xxx

I love the ATC with the pretty chequerboard effect round the edges and the top layer in complementary colours using the Tiles stencil, and I love the black silhouette thistle stamped over the top, and then the card, such an interesting look with the fir trees and the holly softly stencilled in the background and the blue masked strip fading as it goes upwards...a wonderful 'get well soon' card Kathy. I love that sweetly decorated little Monkey Puzzle tree too. x

Wonderful work as always Kathy and I especially like your ATC! What a load of ingredients too.Loving your festive look on the blog background! And I always wanted a monkey puzzle tree until someone here discovered they can grow to 30 or so metres high :) What a laugh to add the baubles - so nice to see a sense of fun. Goodness know we need it!

Hugs
