Saturday and the last one in November - who's got the tree up?

Morning readers,

I've a make to share with you today ....... I'll shortly be wrapping a modest gift for each of the staff at my hairdressers (fingers crossed I'll get to my appointment in time to deliver them too!) and thought I should make some tags. I don't name each of the staff on my tags as the gifts are all the same so I just put who the gifts are from! Gave me the chance to use some very old stash as the snowman, the from and the Kathy are probably 20 years old, the Paper Artsy set was a Christmas gift in 2019

The front and rear of my tag
My batch of ten tags
Materials used:
  • Ten Kraft tags
  • All Night Media "from" (564C) and Paper Artsy "Merry" and "Christmas" (JOFY65) stamped using Versafine Clair tulip red ink
  • Funstamps "little snowman" (and, yes, I DO have the larger version too!) and "Kathy" (the only indication of manufacturer on the wood mount says "Name Brand and 1997 - guess I've had it a while then!) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils and Pilot Clear Glitter Gel Marker pen used to add "twinkle" to my project

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Love To Craft Challenge Blog - November challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Cardz4Galz - challenge No. 135 - CUTE CHRISTMAS
  3. As You Like It - November 19th - FAVE SNOWMAN OR PENGUIN + WHY - I just think this is such a cheerful snowman ... so much so I have him in two sizes!!!
  4. Creative Knockout - challenge No. 378 - CHRISTMAS DELIGHT (that IS a look of delight on my snowman's little face!)
  5. TGIF - challenge No. 292 - THEME CHALLENGE - see below and what's more magical than a snowman!

I recently availed myself of a Black Friday bargain (IMHO) .... a set of 24 Arteza real brush pens and couldn't wait to test drive them!

Here was my first experiment, the one on the left using regular smooth card and dry brush pens, the one on the right using watercolour paper and dipping the brush pen in water ......

I then went on to use the one I liked best (no prizes for guessing which that was!!!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White, C6/A2, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • One piece each of white card, chocolate brown card and Bockingford 300gsm water colour card
  • Stampers Anonymous coneflower and stem (from CMS215 "flower garden" - can't remember how long I've had it but gonna say at least since 2018) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink including on to a post it which I fussy cut out to use as a mask
  • With my mask in place I added Memento rosebud ink through my Tim Holtz mini stencil (from set #24) using a makeup brush
  • Arteza real brush pens and a waterbrush used to colour my image and Wink of Stella clear glitter gel brush pen to add subtle sparkle
  • Ranger Letter-It sentiment (from a set that came free with Simply Cards & Papercraft magazine in early 2019) stamped using Versafine Clair nocturne ink
  • Finally, a quick spritz with Crafters Companion Spray and Shine to protect the water based paints

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. NBUS - challenge No. 20 - USE NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) in this case the Arteza pens
  2. Aud Sentiments - challenge No. 265 - ANYTHING GOES + A SENTIMENT
  3. Krafty Chicks - challenge No. 535 - ALL OCCASIONS
  4. Water Cooler Wednesday - challenge No. 299 - ALL ABOUT OCCASIONS
  5. Colour Crazy - challenge No. 47 - ANYTHING (Hand coloured) GOES

I love your cute snowman tags Kathy and the coneflower is gorgeous using your new pens. I have looked at those myself but wasn't sure whether to take the plunge or not but they look good. I love the background stencilling and the lovely large birthday sentiment to finish. x

I certainly do NOT have the tree up yet, Kathy, as it isn't December yet - but at least I'm not as strict as my mum, who wouldn't allow decorations up till Christmas eve! Anyway, just came in to admire your Funstamps snowman - still looking young and fresh on your beautiful tags. I have the regular size version and still use him a lot - he never fails to make me smile.
