Double-Take

I´m taking you to Curtain University again, where our dear host took me, a "double-take", right?

On checking if I had posted this already (mind you, I get forgetful!) I found this entry from April, thinking the doors (of "Corinna") will open soon. We´d be OK. HA. No... Not in Germany, not in Europe. It´s mid-October! And the world is still running mad.

We keep the distance.
Fellow blogger Chris has a very, very sad but also kinda comforting entry on how it is these days to say a final good-bye... When you cannot see whole faces, when you are not allowed to hug being in deepest pain...

This is all we can do these days. In these days where we need a comforting hug, boy, am I lucky I have my Hubby for that.

Too many can say but just this and imagine we had no internet!
I remember when my Hubby was so very severly sick the blogger-community helped me big, via comments and e-mails - I might´ve lost it otherwise, and I´m not even kidding.

Let´s hope we all can kiss each other soon, if on the cheek, hug and really be there for each other again.
No more masks, no more fear, no more people coughing at you on purpose to scare you off (what´s with those people?!).

Let´s take "Corinna" and treat her the way she deserves to be treated.
Left out.
Some discipline now and treat her with respect and sense.

Taking part again in Sami´s COLOURFULWORLD Monday Murals.

Hello,

Love the mural, cool looking birds. I am not ready to get there without my mask, I will that to those brave people who must not care.
Take care, stay safe! Wishing you a great day and a happy new week!

Excellent explanation here of the 2 birds. I like that.

Iris!!! What beautiful birds!!! I have always been amazed with birds that have long legs - herons, flamingos, emus, cranes! That one is super beautiful and I really like about Australia is that they give so much importance to their wildlife!

Iris Flavia said...

Jeanie, I am sorry... hope this crazy is over soon...

____

magiceye, thank you and dito.

Stevenson, yes, the Aussies sure and rightfully are proud of their wildlife!

These are beautiful birds and they are so well drawn, too. In a way, it's nice how the greenery has grown up between them, showing social distancing. I would love for the day we are finished with this virus, but for now, we all know the rules. Sadly some refuse to listen and abide by them.

Iris Flavia said...

Yes, you are right, that is a symbol for social distancing, sad and crazy coincidence... I took this pic in Feb 2019...

I wish our city had sweet identifiable murals like this one. We have murals, but almost none I like well enough even to photograph, much less blog. .... I’m guessing my country could top yours for crazy right now. And yes everybody is getting tired of it all. But as somebody wise said the other day “you might be tired of Covid, but Covid isn’t tired of you.” ..... also, yes, like you I’m so grateful the two of us have each other. There is a lot I miss , but we are lucky to have that.

Beautiful birds.
I can hardly wait to be able to hug friends again and meet for a drink and relax without worrying about viruses.

Nice art. I know what you mean about corinna. It has affected the way people interact with each other.

Iris Flavia said...

Sallie, those are true words! We get tired, Corinna does not. Lucky us who have someone to cuddle up to and kiss!
Sad you only have not-so-nice murals!

____

RedPat, yes, how long will people stay sane?

____

gigi, yes, many give up and go careless already...

That's a very nice mural, I like it. I also like your little conversation, we must stay strong and it will hopefully get rid of the virus.

I do like that mural.

Iris Flavia said...

Bill, yes, we need to be strong. "Little conversation" 😉

____

William, yes, it has something.

I love his work Iris, it pops up in unexpected places all over Perth. Thinking positive I'm sure it won't be too long before you are winging your way back here 💛

That's a good find.

And yes - something must be done about Corinna. She's too out of control, now. :-\
