Skywatch Friday: Grand Prismatic Spring

At the Midway Geyser Basin in Yellowstone you will find the Grand Prismatic Spring.

It's one of the most beautiful features in the park.

Just today two women were found guilty of leaving the boardwalk at Midway and walking on these delicate thermal features.  They were fined, sentenced to a couple days in jail and had to pay reparations for the damage they caused.  Plus they are banned from the Park for two years.

If you travel about a mile down the road from Midway you will find the Fairy Falls Trail head.  From there you can take the trail to the overlook.

Beautiful!

So glad I saw your post this week. I am awed. This beauty I have no words for. Speechless. Awed. Have a nice weekend. Be safe.
One of my favorite features. A former coworker won the company photo contest with an iphone photo she took of the springs.

You wonder what goes through people's heads to go walk off the designated area!!

Like no place on earth! I'm hoping for a return visit one of these days. It's too bad there are knuckleheads out there that can't/don't follow the simple, basic rules.
