Wednesday Hodge Podge

From this Side of the Pond

Hosted by Joyce .

1. What's something you could do today to feel more peaceful?

Well, I would have loved to  be able to say  sit out on our lovely,  freshly washed and redecorated porch,  but it is 91 today.. I'm not quite ready for that, so  it would be to sit in the living room,  reading  something uplifting!! ...scripture,  or   one of my  wonderful  poetry books or   other books  that calm and  refresh the mind... and listen to   some calming instrumental music  probably by Dan Gibson like

2. June 2nd is National Rotisserie Chicken day. Who knew? Are you a fan of rotisserie chicken? You've purchased one at your local market for tonite's dinner. Will you serve as is or make something else using the chicken?
When I  purchase a rotisserie chicken I usually make lemon tarragon chicken salad.

3. I read a list recently (go here to read more) of 20 of the most beautiful places in America. How many of these have you seen up close and in person? Of the sites on this list that you haven't seen, which would you most like to see?

Antelope Canyon Arizona, Kenai Fjords Alaska, White Mountains New Hampshire, Crater Lake Oregon, The Palouse Washington and Idaho, Grand Prismatic Spring Wyoming, Multnomah Falls and Columbia River Gorge Oregon, Horsehoe Bend Arizona, Na Pali Coast Kauai Hawaii, Antelope Valley California, Lake Tahoe California, The Berkshires Massachussets, Maroon Bells Colorado, Angel Oak South Carolina, Acadia National Park Maine, Grand Teton National Park Wyoming, Turnip Rock Michigan, Central Park New York City, Niagara Falls New York, and Skagit Valley Tulip Fields Washington

Of the list I've only  seen  those marked in red.  We  go north  now  to see our  family  and we haven't been west of Indiana, so I  don't know that I will ever see any more from that list ! If I did make it west I'd be sure to  spend some time in Colorado and  Montana!

4. What's one pretty spot you'd add to the list in question #3? Are there travel plans of any kind on your calendar right now? Does that make you happy, anxious, excited, sad, or relieved? The only  place  I am hepped up to see in our near future is  our second trip to Ireland and I do not think it would  actually belong on this list.

Our July  trip  for 2020  is awash..  hopefully, we can do it next summer!

5. Tell us one un-COVID related thing you're looking forward to in the month of June.  Well, we have every doctor's appt. I can think of  coming up in the next 3 weeks.. after  that I would love to take a road trip  somewhere, far from the madding crowd.. perhaps the Smoky's!  Then swing  back by way of Blowing Rock and stop in to see  a fav  cousin!!!

6. Insert your own random thought here.
I have learned not to  long for something    like  a special trip or  vacation.. or  a family event...  long so much  and look with such expectation  that it hurts,  because  in my life,     things   that  are so  cherished  usually never  happen... It has been    the way of my world.
A senior year summer  Spanish club trip to Acapulco, a family trip to  Niagara Falls and on to Nova Scotia and PE Island, and now   our  year long planned trip to western Ireland with our  daughter's family! Who knows if we will ever  actually get to go?

  3. "Every doctor's appointment I can think of coming up..." Isn't that the truth? We are also trying to schedule all the missed appointments and tests (and not just the medical appts) as quickly as possible. I hope you get to stay inside and avoid those hot temps today.
