It's Friday and that can only mean the weekend is almost upon us!

Morning readers,

Hope you've had a great week, and managed to stay warm too.

I've been at the table of craftiness, thought I'd deploy a technique not used in a while, that of blending distress inks. Together with some glue stick foiling and Voila!, another for my sentiment free commission!

My card
And a closer view of the gluestick foiling. I LOVE the uneven coverage
obtained with the stencil/gluestick/foil

The front back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my card

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of purple card cut to mat
  • Using low tack tape I masked off my focal area and then applied (ombre style) Distress Inks in picked raspberry and dusty concorde, blending with a mini blending sponge until I was happy with the coverage
  • Placing my Carta Bella stencil over the inked area I liberally applied gluestick adhesive, working in with my fingers before removing (and cleaning) the stencil.
  • Sheet gold foil applied over the glued area, worked in my fingers and then set aside overnight, to thoroughly dry, before applying a quick coat of Krylon sealant, to protect the water based inks
  • Elsewhere on the card, insert and envelope I used the same stencil but Memento inks in grape jelly and rosebud, applied using an Aldi stencil brush

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Lemon Shortbread - challenge No. 106 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 1945 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. Crafting By Designs - November challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Through The Craft Room Door - November 12th challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Everybody Art - challenge No. 457 - EVERYTHING THAT SHINES

And now, with Christmas on its way .... and new stash to ink ... I was powerless to resist!

Ford's Garage, where everything is car themed, yes, EVEN the toilets!

The burgers were delicious
Oh my! The Churro fries and white chocolate and raspberry dipping sauces were divine
Glad we had room but ... also glad we shared!
Home via a bar, there was trivia! BUT, check out the fact that,
on October 31st, they had their Christmas tree up!
