Midweek, won't be long till the weekend

Morning readers,

I'm recently back from Florida (and really feeling the cold!!!) but have more vacation pix to share with you, along with some craft makes using new stash!! Hope you can spare a moment to read to the bottom - perhaps grab a coffee, and enjoy some sunshine in the pix!

But first of all .... and in honour of the chilly weather - a Christmas card!

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of patterned paper, cut to mat
  • MFT image and sentiment stamped using Memento tuxedo black and Versafine onyx black inks
  • For the inside sentiment I used a Hero Arts sentiment and Versafine onyx black ink
  • Pencils used to colour the image, also added twinkle with glitter gel pens, Wink of Stella clear glitter gel brush pen and stardust stickles

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Happy Little Stampers - November CAS challenge - TIS THE SEASON
  2. Incy Wincy - November challenge - ANIMALS
  3. Cutie Pie - challenge No. 141 - ADD AN ANIMAL
  4. The Holly and Ivy - challenge No. 60 - ANYTHING CHRISTMAS GOES
  5. Unicorn Challenge - challenge No. 49 - WINTER/CHRISTMAS

And now for another "sentiment free" make, for a commission ....

My card

The front, back and inside of my card along with the front and back of my envelope

Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of white card cut to fit
  • One piece of deep red card, cut to mat
  • Penny Black image stamped using Ranger Archival grey shadow ink
  • Using Peerless water colour sheets I added a little colour to my Iris image
  • Tsukineko shimmer "Sparkle" spritzed over and set aside to dry, initially I was disappointed with the apparent "splodges" the spray made but now? I really like the effect!
  • A quick spray of Krylon sealant, to protect the water based colour and I'm calling that done!

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Pammie's Inky Pinkies - challenge No. 1945 - ANYTHING GOES
  2. Retro Rubber - challenge No. 123 - ANYTHING GOES - using image/s more than one year old - my P.B. image dates back to April 2010
  3. Happy Little Stampers - November watercolour challenge - ANYTHING GOES + (optional) ANIMALS
  4. Crafty Friends - challenge No. 122 - ANYTHING GOES
RRCB 123

And some more vacation pix ..

A day trip to Dunedin

And a visit to Whimsodoodle in St Petersburg, sadly, this store will be closing at the end of December
The end of an era, it's been a "must visit" pit stop for many years

And my shopping haul from Whimsodoodle
Meet Lulu, my friend Sally's dog - she thinks she's human,
and she's (apparently) ready for her dinner!

I adore your cute dog Kathy and your prettily coloured flowers, and more great photos of Florida. Looks like you had a good time and some crafty shopping too. It's so sad when a craft outlet shuts its doors, and obviously happening everywhere. I do still try to use shops as well as on line but it is getting more and more difficult. I had a big shop in Amelia's on the way back from our few days in Yorkshire and will try to return next year...such lovely people there and deserve to do well. x

Your cute festive pooch certainly made me smile Kathy, doubt I'd get anywhere near ours to dress him up. He's a hard terrier cross from the Welsh border!
Thanks for joining us at HLS CAS. :)

Beautiful cards! I like the simplicity of the iris card. I really like the spritzed marks - not overwhelming but adds interest. Thanks for joining us at Happy Little Stampers - Watercolour Challenge.
