Welcome to Wednesday - August 14th

Morning readers,

More weird weather this week, it rains ... the sun comes out .. it rains .. the sun comes out - and, repeat!

Nothing for it but to head to the Table of Craftiness ......I felt a floral ATC coming on so .. I gave in to it and the result is to be seen below ...

Materials used:
  • Snippets of card in black, orange and white
  • Nesting circle dies in plain and scallop
  • Aall & Create flower (from set #140) stamped using Versafine Clair morning mist ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pens to colour image and background
  • Diamond stickles
  • Tim Holtz small talk sticker book "chit chat"
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Dream Valley - challenge No. 207 - HAND COLOURED IMAGE
  2. Lil Patch of Crafty Friends - challenge No. 111 - ANYTHING GOES
  3. The Corrosive Challenge - challenge No. 8 - ANYTHING GOES
  4. Dragonfly Dreams - August 4th challenge - ANYTHING GOES
  5. Through The Craft Room Door - August 13th challenge - ANYTHING GOES

And now on to a card ... I was browsing my "reading list" and came across a couple of challenges that took my fancy and I wondered if I could combine the three

My card
And a closer view of the image panel
The front and back of my card and back of my envelope
Materials used:
  • White A2/C6, 250gsm, card and matching sized envelope
  • Two pieces of 300gsm card cut to 5¼" x 3¾"
  • One piece of scrap card which I used to position and die cut a circle (using my trusty nesting circle dies) from it, to use as a mask
  • With my mask in place on one of my pieces of white card I applied Distress Ink in spiced marmalade and carved pumpkin, using a mini blending tool
  • With a little water on my fingers I "flicked" over the image panel, allowed a second or two for it to "develop" before mopping excess with paper towel .. it always leaves such fab circular splatters and mottling .... although the large circular splodges were happy accidents, they look almost bokeh like ... IMHO
  • Removing the mask, I stamped the Stampers Anonymous image using Ranger Archival paradise teal ink (nearest colours I have to tangerine and aqua)
  • With the mask back in place I applied a light coat of Crafters Companion Spray and Shine, to protect the water based inks
  • For the insert I used a sentiment by the Cornish company WendyHouse (D0021) stamped using Ranger Archival monarch orange

I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-
  1. Simply Less Is More - challenge No 401 - COLOUR CHALLENGE - see below
  2. Inkspirational - challenge No. 193 - TRAVEL (New York cityscape)
  3. Just Us Girls - challenge 500 - TREND WEEK - CIRCLES (masked circle and splatter circles)
  4. Happy Little Stampers - August challenge - USING JUST ONE THIRD
  5. Unicorn Challenge - challenge No. 46 - FULLY LOADED or CAS

And finally for a little kraft tag I ran up for surrogate grandsons birthday at the weekend . . . . . his card features the same lion on it

My tag, on the package
And a closer view of the image
Materials used:
  • Kraft tag
  • Recollections image and sentiment (from a mixed birthday set I've had since September 2012) stamped using Memento tuxedo black ink
  • Faber Castell polychromos pencils used to colour image
I'll be entering the above make for the following challenges:-

What a pretty ATC Kathy and love the layered orange scallops against the black with that gorgous flower, so striking, and the orange circle goes beautifully with the New York background, and who can resist your sweet lion kraft tag and super colours. x
