Happy to Stroll
by Sunny

Five you say, may not be old
I am not weak, I'm very bold
But instead of running, I'd rather stroll.

Rosy and Daddy, they love to run
But if Mama and I would run
In minutes we'd be done.

We like to stay back and admire the view,
taking in the sun and being the few
strolling along, like tourists do.

So Rosy, you and Daddy can run,
but if you're taking a poll
Don't worry about Mama and I
We're going to stroll.

This is Five
From the Pawrents:
Happy 5th Birthday to Sunny, our true Taurus:
  • -Committed to comfort and routine (Especially routine)
  • -Strong-willed and frank (and vocal about it!)
  • -Dependable and hardworking (always prefers having a job to do)
  • -Dedicated and stubborn (Understatement)
  • -Sensual (This always throws us for a loop. Sunny is the most snuggly lapdog we have ever had. No matter what her mood previously during the day, at 3:50pm and 8:10pm she wants to climb up on Mama's lap for belly rubs and snuggle time)

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE  to go to our Hoppity Page.

Thankful Thursday

On the last day before turning five, I have so many things to be thankful for and it was hard to choose just one.

I decided for my fifth birthday, I would list my top five thankfuls:

5. Greenies....because you know, they are delicious nuggets of green goodness!

4. I am thankful for family adventures, something I might not have been thankful for a few years ago. I am thankful that I can be a part of family adventures without being real sick during the journey.

3. I am thankful I am in less pain since I started getting my librela shots. Mama is trying to limit them to every six weeks. She says that even though they block pain, if I keep running and jumping, I could injure my knee and leg without even knowing.

2. I am thankful for Rosy! Having a patient loving sister is very important. When I become "activated" sometimes I don't know what I'm doing and I growl and charge Rosy. Rosy remains calm, that helps me remember where I am so I can settle down and "deactivate".

1. Mama and Daddy are number 1 on my thankful list this year. Daddy gives me cheese and greenies, and drives us to cool places in ArCe. Mama...well Mama feeds me dinner...puts up with my Sunny-tude and still loves me if I bite her toe-ies (I may have over reacted when she stepped on my paw).
Anyways...I do know how lucky I am to have such pawsome pawrents!

Of course, I am also glad for every one in Blogville. It is pawsome to have such a
wonderful support system from all over the world!

The Trouble with Squirrels

As some of you might remember, unlike Rosy, I have had no problems with squirrels. This year, however, they have started to take over our backyard. This has upset Daddy, because they they have been trying to set up housekeeping under our sheds.

Here is a video from TC showing squirrel cuteness...

As always, feel free to visit our YouTube Channel HERE

I am torn....on the one hand, they are so cute...

BUT

If Daddy hates them, I think I may have to rethink things...

Sunny's Travels Tuesday

As I get ready to turn 5, I realize how lucky I am to have visited so many cool places!

I met donkeys in Utah when I was only 5 months old!

I got to play with bears on my 1st birthday...

I got to travel across country when we moved from California to New Mexico.

I've even seen horsies up in Northern New Mexico

From pretty mountain views in Creede...

...to the serene Rocky Mountains of Colorado!

I've talked to cows in Tucumcari

Visited beaches without oceans....

...and the world's biggest pistachio in Alamagordo, NM.

I've seen trains go by behind our campsite in Chama, NM...

...and climbed big(gish) lava mountains in Grants, NM

I've even sat by a campfire in Arizona!

I'm so happy to have been able to visit so many places.

I can't wait to see where we go in the next 5 years!!

Aaaws thru the Years

This Friday I turn the big 05!!
It's hard to believe 5 years have gone by so fast. Anyways, Mama says since it's my birthday week, I can have the blog all week long!!

I thought we would start the week off with some Awwww-worthy pictures of me through the years!!
This is the first picture Mama has of me, before I even came to live with her and Daddy. I was only 4 weeks old!

This is my first picture with Daddy, Mama took it right after they picked me up.
I sure am cute, aren't I?

Here is me, meeting Rosy for the first time and telling her not to worry, I would be in charge now.
(She still doesn't believe that, but that's ok,
I know I am in charge and that's what matters)

This is my very first birthday. We had a camping pawty in Mt. Shasta, California.

Here I am turning two! It's hard to believe that in only a year we went from living in Northy North California to living in the High Desert of New Mexico!

Three was a very special year for me, because I was done with all my leggy surgeries. We went LOTS of places in CeCe that year to make up for lost time!

Here I am turning four. It's been a great year, with more adventures and lots of quality time with the family.

Only 4 more sleeps until I turn 5, I can't wait!!!
(OH, and I really AM in charge, no matter what the family thinks)

Nature Friday, Japanese Garden Style

Welcome to Nature Friday, where we get to meet new friends and share a picture or two of what nature looks like around Blogville.

Earlier this week, Mama went back to see what April is looking like at the Sosebo Japanese Garden(a part of the ABQ Botanic Garden). You won't believe all the pretty flowers she saw.

Walking into the gardens, Mama could see tell how much everything bloomed since her visit last month.

The Japanese Cherry Blossoms were a big favorite on this trip.

The peonies were a close second though. Sooooo much pink prettiness!

The little wooden bridge is definitely saying, "Spring has arrived"!

The waterfall is surrounded by color.

....and that's just the front of the garden, look what Mama found along the trails in back of the Koi Pond.

The leaves are filling out and before long, this will be all shady.

There are fresh leaves on all the Japanese Maple Trees

Between the greens and the pinks, Mama's head sure was swiveling!

There were even some oranges thrown in the mix!

Of all the pictures, this is my favorite...2 little pink bloomsd
 just like Sunny and I!

Of course, Mama made a short video of, ummmm all the videos(plus some extra pictures) she took BOL!

As always, feel free to visit our YouTube Channel HERE

Mama looks forward to her serene walks in the Sosebo Gardens and is in awe of how much things have bloomed in just the past few weeks.
I wonder what May will bring!

We are off to Southern New Mexico with ArCe to soak up some nature and hope everyone gets out and to enjoy some outside time this
Easter weekend too.

Show us your nature! It can be flowers, your current weather, a scene out of your window, or maybe a picture from a vacation, walk or other journey! Any kind of nature picture will do! If you don't see a link below, click HERE to go to our Hoppity Page.
