Border Half Way

After almost 7 hours of quilting the last border of Good Fortune is half way done!  It is very hard to see the circle wreath in the corner on this part due to the darker print strip but I no on the opposite end of the quilt done 3 months ago it was visible as a wreath – you will have to take my word that it is there.

I got two more signatures in the mail yesterday and I know there are 3 more coming – if you have still to send yours let me know so I will get a rough idea of when the last well get here – I will not start until I’m sure they are all arrived – I had a pattern picked out at the beginning but I have been going over some other designs and might change it.  Thank you Kelly and Debbie for sending these.

I have all the envelopes and signatures for the International Signature Quilt stacked in a box and the some of the bits and pieces of fabric that was sent along – I didn’t think to put the fabric aside until recently and more was added to this box last night after I took the photo – I hope I have it all I thought I would incorporate all of it into the quilt.  So far there are 63 that have arrived – if you would still like to take part just let me know.

My first crochet sweater ever has the first sleeve almost done – I am ready to work on the cuff of the first sleeve—I have found the instructions for this cuff very confusing and I decided to change it as I do so often on my quilts!!  I am going to make a cuff like the bottom ribbing and then will do the same for the part that goes around the neck and down the front as the instructions are the same for that area too.  It think it will work out ok.  I need to keep a look out now for a couple buttons – the pattern shows just a couple buttons on the front with loops I will need to figure out the loops as I go or add them some way later.  Now will this turn out good enough to wear LOL – that is a good question – we will see!

Oh I love the sweater! It looks like it will be so cozy sitting on your deck on those cool days and reading a good book with a cup of tea! Can’t wait to see your signature quilt! Love all the places that are participating!

it has been fun getting these signatures from all over the world and I’m wondering what I will come up with for a finish

Your wreath design in the corner of Good Fortune looks great – you’re getting closer to finishing. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do for your signature quilt, too! Such a fun idea! Glad you got your sleeve finished up – that should make the other one go so much faster.

I need to add the cuff still but maybe it will look ok in the end who can tell! Glad to be almost done with Good Fortune!

Your sweater looks good to me, almost a finish. I don’t think I could do a sweater, it probably would be funny looking, lol! The wreath on your quilt looks so close now, it won’t be long before you have another finish yay! I’m glad you got so many signatures for your quilt, it’s going to make a good size quilt with wonderful memories of your readers. I’ve got some yard work to do before it gets too hot this morning, so have a nice day.

well if all else fails maybe the sweater will be ok for on the porch and yard LOL looks rainy again today – at least we haven’t gotten as much rain as the areas around us have all week – whereas some have gotten 3 inches or so we barely have a 3/4 inch – thank goodness cuz we don’t need more!

I’m looking forward to see what you are going to make with all your signature blocks. With still a few to arrive you won’t be starting for a little while. Wonder what design you will finally choose? We will just have to wait and see.

I will really think about what design pattern block to use in the upcoming week – at the rate this is going it might be next year before it is finished!

Ooh, you are SO CLOSE now with your quilt! And yes, I do see the wreath. :-). I love your lilac sweater, too. I know I’ve told you that already, but it’s worth saying it again. I hope you’ll model it for us when it’s finished!

    • Karen Jun 7, 2019 @ 22:00

yes so close to the end! it will be so nice to get the binding on this quilt – wash and dry and on the bed! I hope the sweater turns out – I need to start work on the first cuff and see how it turns out.

Your quilting is gorgeous! I’ll admit to being antsy about seeing it all done. LOL!

  • Karen Jun 8, 2019 @ 9:13
