it's Imke's turn to choose the challenge and she's got a sketch for us - yay!
This is what it looks like....
And this is what I did with it....
Now, as you can see, I didn't quite get the one shape right on there but I can EXPLAIN. I do have a die that'll cut that particular shape. I hadn't used it yet (I was originally going to say it was brand new but, in truth, it wasn't, wasn't even close to being new, probably, like, at least a year old - yikes) so all the shapes were still attached to one another. I tried the high-tech technique I usually use to get them apart - bending them back and forth until the attachment-thingies break but this die was having none of that and I started bending the dies instead. Next I tried my dollar store pair of snips to cut them apart but they were too thick to fit between the dies....so strike two. I was then going to ask my oldest if he had anything to get them apart but just as I went to do that he started doing his weekly housecleaning chore.....and it wasn't 9:00pm on Sunday night for once (!!!!). No way I was going to interrupt that! So, I had to just go with a standard rectangle. I'm thinking Imke will forgive me. (:
Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up? And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fantastic projects the other Girlfriends have created.

Super cute card, Jan! Love everything about it...image, papers, letters for the sentiment...all! And I hear you on snipping dies apart. Sometimes they just don't want to cooperate! I much prefer when they're all separated already.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun graduation card! I especially like the tilt to your letters, but most of all I always enjoy your writing. Your blog posts are always special.
ReplyDeleteIn this one I could really picture you trying to get the dies apart!
Love that sweet little mouse! I am always so enamoured by the images you use on your creations. And the side panel is fine. A sketch is for inspiration and you were clearly inspired!!
ReplyDeleteFun image and the addition of the two stars help set it off. Fabulous paper on your wonderful creation. Thanks so much for joining in at Crafty Cardmakers 3-2-1 challenge.

ReplyDeleteSuper cute card Jan. Love your choice of DSP to compliment the colouring of that littel mouse. I wish manufacturers didn't join dies, then we'd have none of that pain! Thanks for joining us at the Watercooler Wednesday Challenge this week. Tristan DT
