In this video review, I share our experience with the stop motion animation kit from Stopmotion Explosion. My daughters (ages 6, 8 and 11) have had tons of fun creating their own LEGO stop motion movies. Making stop motion movies together has been a great homeschool learning experience as well as family fun! The stop motion animation kit includes a camera, quick start book, computer software, and book about stop motion animation. This kit makes it easy to get started with stop motion animation! The quick start guide will get you set up in five or ten minutes. The book includes tons of information about stop motion, from history to script-writing to lighting and more. We used this kit to create some stop motion animation with our Lego figures. Sunshine used her camper and four Lego friends people to narrate a camping story in stop motion. The girls are so proud of their finished videos (included in this video). Stop motion animation is a great homeschool resource as it teaches kids so many skills. We discussed script writing and story telling as well as camera angles, lighting, set creation, etc. This entire process has helped the girls think more critically about the movies we watch and the work that goes into creating movies.
