April Showers @ Little Red Wagon

This week at

it's our newest Girlfriend Doni's first challenge and she's saying, "April Showers" which means that she wants to see projects that include water, either as a theme or as part of a technique. Lots of opportunity there!

This is what I did......

As you can see, I've got some waves going on there for my water.  I had originally thought of doing some watercolouring so I could have both the theme AND technique going on but I went with paper piecing instead.  Still, the paper I used does look kinda like it's been watercoloured so it's a little bit of a win. Stamps are from Neat & Tangled.

And ack!  In the future I really need to remember that embossing powder and textured cardstock don't play wonderfully well together.  But, I think I got away with it here seeing as it's waves and they tend to be frothy & foamy so the look works.  At least that's what I'm going with.

Why not give our challenge a go this week and head on over to Little Red Wagon and link up?  And, while you're there, be sure to check out the fantastic projects the other Girlfriends have created.

  3. Jan, you shouldn't tell us when things don't work the way you want, 'cause your cards look so great if you didn't say anything, we would never guess!!! I think the waves look perfect! Very wave/water-ish. And super cute design over all – image, paper and a perfectly pun sentiment. Oh, and the twine and button, love those, too, the perfect embellishments to top it all off.

Okay, so ever since I started my blog (well, maybe not right from the get-go, it was probably a good six months or so before I realized you could change it from just "Leave your comment") I've tried to come up with something witty to type here.

*sitting with brow furrowed in concentration*...*staring at the ceiling while pursing lips*...*resting with head on hand while tapping foot*...

Nope, I still got nothing.
